Job Description

The Academic Administration Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of academic programs within an educational institution. This position involves a variety of tasks, including overseeing administrative operations, liaising between faculty, administrative staff, and students, as well as implementing institutional policies and procedures. The Academic Administration Officer will maintain comprehensive records and support the academic staff in fulfilling the institution’s mission of providing high-quality education. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the scheduling, planning, and organization of academic programs and activities.
  • Maintain student records and ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of information.
  • Oversee the enrollment processes, including registration, admission, and orientation.
  • Facilitate communication between faculty, administrative staff, and students effectively.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of academic policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standards and regulations.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and committee functions as needed by the institution.
  • Provide administrative support to academic staff to ensure their teaching and research effectiveness.
  • Handle student inquiries and resolve academic or administrative issues promptly.
  • Manage the academic calendar, ensuring the timely execution of events and activities.
  • Prepare reports, data analysis, and presentations for stakeholders as required.
  • Support the continuous improvement of academic administration processes and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in academic administration or a similar educational setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination.
  • Proficiency with office software, databases, and educational management systems.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure within tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of academic policies, accreditation standards, and educational legislation.
