What Youll Do

• Editorial Planning: Collaborate with senior editors to craft daily, weekly, and monthly rosters for the news team.
• Trendspotting: Monitor feeds and identify trends to shape the days editorial news agenda.
• Quality Control: Edit, validate, and fact-check stories to ensure they meet our rigorous standards.
• Team Development: Train your team to break exclusive stories, dive deep into subjects, and conduct insightful interviews.
• Innovation: Brainstorm new story formats, series, and themes to keep our content fresh and engaging.
• Team Well-being: Ensure roster optimisation and maintain a happy, high-performing team.
• Draft Important Stories: Open to stepping in and drafting quick and important stories once in a while when other reporters are occupied with equally important stories

What Are We Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years in startup/tech/business/economy reporting or editing.
• Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication/Englishin Honours/Engineering or equivalent.
• Tech Savvy: Strong interest in and understanding of technology, the startup ecosystem, and the business landscape.
• Global Awareness: Familiar with global developments in the world of tech, digital, and startup trends.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English, with strong writing and editing abilities.
• Journalistic Integrity: Strong grasp of news reporting basics and structures.
• Market Insight: The ability to understand the tech landscape and foresee upcoming trends.
• Stock Market Understanding: Familiarity with capital markets, investor sentiment, and how they intersect with the startup and tech ecosystem.
