SAP FICO Consultant

Company Overview

We are a talent acquisition and staff augmentation firm, and we are currently hiring on behalf of one of our clients, an organization in the manufacturing and industrial space. Our client is looking to onboard an SAP FICO Consultant across multiple locations in India for a fully remote role that can be offered on a full-time, part-time, or contractual basis, depending on the candidate’s preference and eligibility.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP FICO Consultant to support the implementation, customization, and maintenance of SAP Finance and Controlling modules. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across the full SAP FICO landscape, including at least one end-to-end implementation, and brings strong functional knowledge of finance processes such as general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, asset accounting, and taxation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, customization, and maintenance of SAP FICO and related sub-modules.
• Contribute to end-to-end (ETE) SAP implementations, including ECC-based projects.
• Participate in S/4HANA implementation projects by applying hands-on configuration skills and functional expertise to deliver effective business solutions.
• Support Fund Management processes alongside core FICO functionality.
• Configure and maintain General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and Controlling.
• Apply strong Asset Accounting knowledge to support fixed asset processes and reporting.
• Perform reconciliation of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and bank accounts.
• Apply taxation knowledge to ensure compliance across finance processes and configurations.
  
  

Required Skills

• Minimum 4 years of SAP FICO functional experience, skilled in implementation, customization, and maintenance of related sub-modules.
• At least 1 end-to-end (ETE) implementation experience (ECC implementation).
• Experience implementing SAP S/4HANA solutions, with hands-on involvement in at least one complete implementation cycle preferred.
• Strong experience in SAP FICO and Fund Management (preferred).
• Solid functional knowledge of General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and Controlling.
• Strong knowledge of Asset Accounting.
• Experience with reconciliation of AR, AP, and bank accounts.
• Strong taxation knowledge.
  
  

AI Experience

• Familiarity with SAP’s embedded AI/automation features (e.g., intelligent reconciliation, predictive accounting) is a plus.
• Comfort using AI-assisted tools to support documentation or reporting, though not mandatory for this role.
  
  

Managerial Experience

• This is an individual contributor role where success is driven by technical skills and execution; prior experience managing teams is not necessary.
• Comfortable working closely with cross-functional finance and IT stakeholders during implementation projects.
  
  

Operational Experience

• Experience supporting live SAP FICO environments, including ongoing maintenance and issue resolution.
• Track record of managing reconciliation processes accurately and on schedule.
• Familiarity with supporting month-end and year-end finance close processes within SAP.
  
  

Qualifications

• Any graduate degree (undergraduate degree in any discipline).
• Minimum 4 years of relevant SAP FICO functional experience.
  
  

Certifications

• SAP Certified Application Associate – Financial Accounting (SAP FI) or Management Accounting (SAP CO) certification is a plus, though not mandatory.
