SAP Delivery Head

Overview

We are hiring on behalf of our client, an established IT & Enterprise Technology Consulting organisation specialising in SAP implementation, delivery, and managed services. Our client implements SAP programs for customer facing for various industries and geographies. Implementation and delivery of SAP programs is focussed on Agile. We are currently looking for skilled SAP Delivery Head for our client.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and delivery-focused leader to take on the role of SAP Delivery Head for our client. As a SAP Delivery Head, you have to make sure that requirements of client are met and there is no deviation in the requirement and delivered product. Timely and quality delivery should be the focus. The SAP Delivery Head will own the portfolio’s P&L, manage resources, timelines, scope, risks, and escalations, while mentor project managers and embedding strong governance and controls across all engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer-facing SAP projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery that meets client expectations.
• Directing and supporting project managers in the execution of client-facing projects, ensuring quality and satisfaction of customer.
• Ensured effective project governance by maintaining project tracking, risk logs, and performance records through Jira, MS Project, and SAP Cloud ALM
• Developed and maintained uniform project management practices and tools to support the successful delivery of customer-facing initiatives.
• Enforced project management standards and best practices to drive consistency, quality, and successful outcomes across client engagements.
• Lead Agile SAP projects, ensuring adherence to Agile principles, Scrum ceremonies, and SAP Activate methodology.
• Ensure Agile teams effectively manage sprints and backlogs to deliver features successfully.
• Manage the financial aspects of the portfolio, including P&L, cash flow, and budget adherence.
• Allocate resources efficiently across projects and support capacity planning to meet customer demands.
• Evaluated and mitigated strategic risks at the portfolio level while leading escalation management to maintain seamless customer experiences.
• Ensured project outcomes supported both client business objectives and the organization’s strategic vision, delivering mutual value.
• Produce consolidated portfolio reporting, including key performance metrics and project status, for leadership.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to project managers to strengthen their delivery capabilities.
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong background in managing project portfolios and delivering end-to-end SAP solutions, ensuring successful outcomes across client implementations.
• Extensive SAP functional experience is preferred and would be a highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of SAP Cloud ALM, complemented by practical expertise in Jira and Microsoft Project for planning, monitoring, and execution.
• Highly effective communicator with excellent presentation skills and the ability to influence, collaborate, and build trusted relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making capabilities, with extensive experience in mitigating risks and handling high-priority escalations.
  
  

SAP & Agile Delivery Experience

• Experienced in implementing Agile and Scrum methodologies to facilitate collaboration, improve delivery efficiency, and achieve project objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to apply SAP Activate principles and best practices across the complete SAP project lifecycle.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing SAP implementation projects, supporting business operations, and providing consulting guidance to clients.
• Experience managing sprints, backlogs, and feature delivery within Agile SAP programs.
• Demonstrated expertise in utilizing SAP Cloud ALM, Jira, and Microsoft Project for project governance, tracking, reporting, and portfolio management.
  
  

Managerial Experience

• Proven experience managing P&L, budgets, timelines, and resources across multiple customer-facing projects.
• Strong leadership background with expertise in developing project management talent, guiding teams, and driving high-performance delivery.
• Ability to produce consolidated reporting and manage cross-functional communication related to client projects.
  
  

Operational Experience

• Experience overseeing end-to-end delivery of customer-facing SAP projects, from planning through go-live and support.
• Demonstrated expertise in resource planning and capacity optimization, enabling efficient delivery and achievement of customer project objectives.
• Strong focus on governance, controls, and adherence to defined processes, timelines, and budgets.
• Experience managing project escalations and ensuring timely resolution of issues affecting customers.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, prioritize, and manage projects that maximize business benefits for customers and the organization.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience of 4+ years in managing customer-facing projects through portfolio management or delivery leadership roles.
• PMP certification is a must.
  
  

Certifications

• PMP Certification (mandatory).
• Agile/Scrum certification (preferred).
• SAP Activate methodology certification or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred).
