The Production Engineer will be responsible for providing production support for the bank’s software applications, particularly within the Trade Finance and Supply Chain Management domains. The role involves resolving day-to-day application issues, performing root cause analysis, managing patching and upgrades, and ensuring system availability and performance. The role holder will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to maintain operational continuity and support business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Provide production support for Trade Finance and Supply Chain Management applications.
Perform root cause analysis and resolve technical issues related to application performance and reliability.
Administer and maintain Oracle Database, PL/SQL, Java, MQ, and related technologies.
Monitor and manage application availability, capacity, migrations, and upgrades.
Handle mandatory monthly/quarterly patching and ensure compliance with update schedules.
Conduct application monitoring and routine operational tasks (e.g., reports, stat files).
Coordinate with software vendors to resolve application issues, both short-term and long-term.
Troubleshoot errors and issues through testing, help desk tickets, and other diagnostic methods.
Apply job knowledge to make timely and disciplined decisions.
Track and manage incidents using ticketing tools, ensuring adherence to SLAs.
Support change and release management processes.
Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and infrastructure teams for patch codes, bug fixes, and upgrades.
Participate in business continuity planning and integration for supported applications.
Handle internal and external audits related to application support.
Secondary Responsibilities
Stay updated on global market trends and competitor strategies in relevant technology domains.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to leverage synergies and improve operational efficiency.
Capture and share best practices across the team.
What We Are Looking For
Education
Graduation: Bachelor’s degree or higher in any relevant discipline.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in Trade Finance applications.
Skills and Attributes
Fair knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Web Server, App Server, Linux, and Windows Server.
Hands-on experience in application support and system administration.
Strong understanding of incident, change, and release management processes.
Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication and documentation abilities.
