Role Purpose

Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications built on the Smalltalk

platform. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality

software solutions, support modernization initiatives, and contribute to the continuous

improvement of legacy and new Smalltalk applications. Leverage object-oriented design

principles to develop scalable and maintainable solutions while rapidly acquiring

expertise in the Smalltalk ecosystem.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of software development experience.
• Experience in object-oriented programming and application development.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, object-oriented design
  
  

patterns, inheritance, polymorphism, and encapsulation.

• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with source control systems such as Git.
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
  
  

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/KRAs/KPIs

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Smalltalk technologies.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in application design, development, testing, debugging, and
  
  

deployment activities.

• Understand and support existing legacy applications and frameworks.
• Apply object-oriented design principles to create scalable and reusable software
  
  

components.

• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and project stakeholders.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve production issues within agreed SLAs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge repositories.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best
  
  

practices.

• Continuously improve application performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Support migration and modernization initiatives involving legacy Smalltalk
  
  

applications.

• Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions and help build organizational capability
  
  

in Smalltalk development.

• Learn and adopt Smalltalk development tools, frameworks, and methodologies
