Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team. As an integral member of our operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of electrical systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities
Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and breakdowns, taking immediate action to minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order to ensure efficiency in operations.
Adhere strictly to electrical safety practices and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Manage breakdown maintenance efficiently and with a sense of urgency.
Coordinate with users to implement preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for equipment on a monthly basis.
Document maintenance activities and issues in the daily logbook for reporting purposes.
Monitor SAP for new maintenance work orders and prioritize action on these requests.
Close all job orders in SAP upon completion of duties to maintain accurate records.
Conduct job safety analyses to mitigate risks associated with maintenance activities.
Propose ideas for improvements in maintenance activities and processes.
Perform daily rounds inspecting electric equipment areas (including MSEDCL metering, DG room, and MCC rooms) and initiate actions for any abnormalities observed.
Follow lockout/tagout procedures for all energy isolation jobs to ensure safety during maintenance operations.
Assist the manager/officer in identifying and procuring adequate electrical tools required for both preventive and corrective maintenance.
Apply and check protection settings of communication time electrical MCCs in cases of breakdown, in collaboration with production and maintenance staff.
Monitor SCADA trends for frequent breakdowns, initiating corrective and preventive actions as necessary while coordinating with the electrical manager.
Qualifications
Minimum: NCTVT with 1st class, and a valid PWD Supervisor license.
Desirable: Diploma in Electrical Engineering and a PWD Supervisor license.
Experience
Minimum: NCTVT with at least 10 years of experience as a shift electrician in the chemical, petrochemical, pesticide, or oil industry.
Desirable: Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience as a shift electrician in the chemical, petrochemical, pesticide, or oil industry.
Essential
Skills and Competencies:
Solid understanding of engineering standards and preventive maintenance (PM) practices.
Proficient knowledge of personal safety techniques required for the operation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment across various voltage ranges.
Experience with earthing systems and their standards, along with testing techniques.
In-depth knowledge of various starter systems and their associated protective measures.
Familiarity with testing instruments like multimeters and energy meters.
Experience with service and maintenance of electrical apparatus, including motors, fans, and transformers.
Expertise in high/low tension jointing and terminations.
Knowledge of various lighting systems and their applications in an industrial setting.
Hands-on experience with battery systems and UPS installations.
Desirable
Working knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.
Desirable understanding of intelligent motor control systems and PLC programming.
