Role Description

We are looking for a technically skilled and motivated professional to join our growing team. The role focuses on the analysis and management of large-scale climate and hydrological datasets to support climate risk assessments and resilient infrastructure planning. The role will involve handling complex climate datasets (e.g., CMIP5/CMIP6, CORDEX), performing spatial and temporal analyses, and developing data-driven insights to inform climate-resilient decision-making.

The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Climate Science, Water Engineering, Environment, Digital Analytics, and Sustainability domains to deliver technically robust and innovative solutions.

Role Accountabilities

  • Handle and analyse large-scale climate datasets (e.g., CMIP5/6, CORDEX, ERA5)
  • Conduct statistical and Geospatial analysis of climate and hydrological parameters to assess physical climate risks (e.g., flood, drought, extreme precipitation).
  • Support the preparation of climate risk assessment reports and visualizations for internal and client deliverables.
  • Use GIS tools (QGIS/ArcGIS) to process and integrate spatial data with climate model outputs.
  • Contribute to the development of data pipelines, automated scripts, and reproducible workflows for climate data analytics.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (climate, water, sustainability and digital specialists) to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Maintain documentation, data quality, and traceability in line with project standards.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of analytical methods within the team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Climate Science, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with 3–5 years of relevant experience; or a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (experience during PhD will be considered).
  • Hands-on experience in climate or hydrological data analysis using R and/or Python.
  • Good understanding of climate models, complex climate datasets (e.g., CMIP5/CMIP6, CORDEX), and handling of gridded datasets (NetCDF, HDF, GRIB etc.).
  • Experience with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS) for spatial data processing and visualization.
  • Exposure to remote sensing data, extreme event analysis, or statistical downscaling is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment
