Job Description
Position Title - Head of Operations / Plant Manager
Location - Mysore, Karnataka.
Role Summary – As the Plant Manager for our upcoming plant in Mysore, you will work closely with a cross-functional manufacturing leadership team including Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Finance, HR, and Project teams. The role involves strong collaboration with local and global sites to align production, supply chain, and quality objectives with overall business strategy. You will be responsible for leading end-to-end production operations at the Mysore site, including production planning, quality, logistics, procurement, and supply chain. You will support business objectives by ensuring safe, compliant, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role leads process optimization, capital investment planning, and people development.
The role reports to Global Operations Leader and works closely with the Managing Director.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage production, planning, quality, logistics, and procurement activities at the Mysore facility in close collaboration and co-ordination with our global site/s
- Ensure highest level of EHS Standards at the pant
- Design/implement processes/procedures that effectively support the business.
- Generate, cultivate and communicate ideas for continual improvement of processes and activities across all areas of the operation.
- Drive achievement of production targets related to cost, quality, delivery, and safety
- Monitor and continuously improve production processes using Lean and continuous improvement tools
- Manage departmental budgeting, forecasting, and capital investment planning
- Coach, mentor, and develop direct and indirect team members; identify skill gaps and training needs
- All Financial, Commercial & Administrative Approvals
- Ensure all Process, System & Access Governance at met
Ensure every Quality, Safety & Compliance standards are met at the plant
Qualifications
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in production engineering, Operations, Business Management, or a comparable discipline
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in production or manufacturing operations with proven leadership, strong technical knowledge of electronics assembly or electronic manufacturing services (EMS).
- Experience with high-level strategic planning and daily tactical management of production lines, primarily focusing on high-precision electronics like Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs).
- Proven leadership experience managing medium-sized manufacturing operations with serial production with a global footprint.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and production planning & control
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and process optimization methodologies
- High level of quality awareness and operational excellence mindset
- Experience working in an MNC; international exposure preferred
