Primary Job Title: Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

About The Opportunity

We are hiring for the healthcare — hospital & clinical services sector, focused on women’s health, maternal care, and community obstetrics in a semi-urban/rural district setting. This on-site role supports a full-service maternity unit delivering antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, surgical gynaecology, and family-planning care in Mungeli, Chhattisgarh.

Location: Mungeli, Chhattisgarh, India — On-site

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) obstetrics & gynaecology care, including antenatal clinics, postnatal follow-up, and gynaecologic consultations.
• Perform and oversee deliveries—normal vaginal deliveries and operative deliveries including Caesarean sections—ensuring evidence-based, safe maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Diagnose and manage high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies (e.g., PPH, eclampsia), coordinating with anaesthesia and neonatal teams for timely interventions.
• Plan and perform gynaecologic surgeries and procedures such as laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopy, and MTPs where indicated, ensuring medico-legal compliance and documentation.
• Use point-of-care and diagnostic tools (transvaginal ultrasound, Doppler) for clinical decision-making and perioperative planning.
• Maintain clinical records, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, mentor junior clinicians and nursing staff, and contribute to quality-improvement initiatives.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• DGO (Diploma in Gynaecology & Obstetrics)
• Valid medical registration with National/State Medical Council (NMC or State Medical Council)
• Proven competence in Caesarean section and normal vaginal delivery
• Experience managing high-risk pregnancies and emergency obstetric care
• Proficiency in transvaginal ultrasound for obstetric & gynaecologic assessment
  
  

Preferred

• Training or experience in laparoscopic gynaecologic surgery
• Experience with hysteroscopy and advanced gynaecologic procedures
• Certifications such as BLS/ACLS and formal MTP training
