About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Windows L2 Administrator to manage, support, and troubleshoot enterprise Windows Server and IT infrastructure environments.

The role involves administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Hyper-V, VMware, NAS/SAN storage, Veeam Backup, DNS, DHCP, monitoring, patch management, wireless infrastructure, and basic Fortinet security infrastructure.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in production Windows Server environments and be capable of providing L2 infrastructure support, troubleshooting complex issues, maintaining documentation, and ensuring adherence to defined SLAs and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

Active Directory & Group Policy

• Administer Active Directory, including users, groups, Organizational Units (OUs), computer objects, and permissions.
• Create, edit, manage, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for security, software deployment, and standardization.
• Troubleshoot authentication issues, account lockouts, and Active Directory replication health.
  
  

Virtualization – Hyper-V & VMware

• Build, configure, and manage virtual machines using Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
• Provision new virtual machines end-to-end, including:
• CPU and RAM allocation
• Storage and datastore allocation
• Virtual networking configuration
• Server handover and readiness validation
• Harden new virtual machines and ensure compliance with company security baselines.
• Ensure appropriate OS hardening, patch levels, antivirus/endpoint agents, domain joining, monitoring agents, and backup agents are configured.
• Manage VM snapshots, templates, resource allocation, and basic performance tuning.
  

Storage – NAS & SAN

• Administer and monitor NAS and SAN storage environments.
• Provision LUNs, volumes, and file shares.
• Map storage to hosts and virtual machines.
• Monitor storage capacity, health, utilization, and performance.
• Plan and execute storage capacity expansion activities.
• Manage file shares, permissions, and storage quotas.
  
  

Backup & Recovery – Veeam

• Configure, manage, and monitor Veeam Backup & Replication jobs for servers and virtual machines.
• Verify backup success and troubleshoot failed backup jobs.
• Manage backup retention policies and backup storage.
• Perform periodic restore tests and support disaster recovery drills.
  
  

Core Network Services

• Configure and manage DHCP scopes, reservations, options, and failover/redundancy.
• Administer DNS, including:
• Forward and Reverse Lookup Zones
• A, CNAME, MX, and PTR Records
• Forwarders
• DNS Resolution Troubleshooting
• Manage and monitor Wi-Fi and wireless infrastructure, including:
• Access Points
• SSIDs
• Wireless Controllers
• Basic RF and Coverage Troubleshooting
  

Security Infrastructure – Fortinet

• Perform basic administration of FortiGate firewalls, including:
• Firewall Policies and Rules
• NAT
• Port Forwarding
• Basic VPN Configuration
• Object Management
• Use FortiAnalyzer for log collection, analysis, reporting, and monitoring of security events.
• Support security incident investigations using firewall and analyzer logs.
  

Monitoring & Patch Management

• Configure and maintain monitoring platforms such as Zabbix.
• Set up hosts, templates, triggers, dashboards, and alerts for servers, virtual machines, storage, and network devices.
• Respond to monitoring alerts, investigate issues, and take corrective action.
• Plan, test, and deploy OS and application patches across servers and virtual machines.
• Track patch compliance and maintain patching schedules and reports.
  
  

General L2 Infrastructure Operations

• Provide Level 2 support for infrastructure incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with vendors whenever required.
• Maintain technical documentation, including:
• Runbooks
• Network and Server Diagrams
• Asset Records
• Change Logs
• Follow change management and ticketing processes.
• Ensure compliance with defined SLAs.
• Participate in on-call or shift rotations as required.
  

Required Skills

• 3–6 years of hands-on experience administering Windows Server 2019/2022 in a production environment.
• Strong experience with:
• Windows Server Administration
• Active Directory
• Group Policy
• DNS
• DHCP
• Practical experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
• Experience in creating and managing virtual machines and storage.
• Working knowledge of NAS and SAN storage concepts and administration.
• Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Basic hands-on knowledge of FortiGate firewalls and FortiAnalyzer.
• Experience managing Wi-Fi and wireless infrastructure.
• Experience with monitoring platforms such as Zabbix.
• Experience with patch management tools and processes.
• Good understanding of Microsoft 365.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including VLANs, switching, and TCP/IP.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under pressure.
  

Preferred Qualification

Any Graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

The Following Certifications Will Be An Added Advantage

• Microsoft MCSA / MCSE
• Azure or Windows Server Certifications
• VMware VCP
  
  

Exposure to Microsoft Azure and enterprise IT infrastructure environments will be an added advantage.
