Job Description – Senior Executive/Assistant Manager (Safety) – Construction Project

Job Purpose
To ensure the implementation of Unilever’s Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards, Life Critical Standards, contractor safety expectations, and statutory norms at the Greenfield construction project. The role enables a proactive SHE culture that prioritizes people, compliance, and continuous improvement in line with Unilever policies.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Implement Unilever OHS & Life Critical Standards
Embed Unilever’s global OHS standards and Code Policy requirements across all construction activities.
Ensure no breach of Life Critical Standards and promote “ALL IN! for Safety” culture.
Make sure all workers are adequately trained, competent, medically fit, and alert before undertaking work.

Contractor & Workforce Safety Management
Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors understand and follow Unilever safety procedures and instructions.
Conduct SHE inductions, toolbox talks, and continuous capability building, aligned with Unilever expectations of transparency and trust in safety culture.
Support team leaders to ensure full compliance at all work fronts.

Construction Safety Oversight
Daily inspection of critical construction activities: excavation, scaffolding, working at height, hot work, lifting operations, confined space entry, structural erection, and commissioning activities.
Ensure strict compliance to Permit to Work (PTW) procedures and Unilever Manufacturing System–linked safety practices.
Validate risk assessments (HIRA, JSA) and ensure controls are followed.

Legal & Unilever Compliance
Ensure the site complies with local OHS legislation and Unilever’s mandatory safety requirements, aligned with ISO 45001 based standards.
