Role purpose

As Specialist - HR Information Systems at Accelya, you will support, maintain and enhance our Workday platform, helping to deliver reliable HR processes, effective system configuration and practical solutions for the business.

This role offers the opportunity to build depth across two important Workday areas. You will bring strong hands-on experience in either Workday Recruiting or Talent & Performance, and the curiosity and learning agility to take ownership of the other area through knowledge transfer, training and practical experience. You will also support Core HCM and contribute across other Workday functional areas and business-as-usual activities as priorities evolve.

You will work closely with HR, Talent Acquisition and business stakeholders to deliver Workday enhancements, resolve operational needs, improve user experience and contribute to Accelya's wider HR technology and AI transformation journey.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Act as a Workday functional specialist with strong expertise in either Recruiting or Talent & Performance, while actively developing capability and taking increasing ownership of the other area.
• Provide dependable Core HCM support and contribute to day-to-day Workday operations, issue resolution and other business-as-usual activities as needed.
• Configure, maintain and enhance Workday solutions, ensuring system reliability, data integrity and an excellent user experience.
• Support the design, testing, deployment and documentation of Workday enhancements, new functionality and system releases.
• Partner with HR, TMOD, Talent Acquisition and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective Workday solutions.
• Develop and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, document templates and analytics outputs that support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Support HR data governance, audit activities, compliance requirements and data quality initiatives across the Workday ecosystem.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and support the adoption of automation, Workday Agents and emerging AI capabilities that improve employee experience, operational efficiency and business outcomes.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 4-5 years of hands-on Workday experience is essential.
• Strong practical experience in either Workday Recruiting or Workday Talent & Performance is required.
• A genuine willingness and ability to learn, take ownership of and build expertise in the other area, supported by knowledge transfer and practical experience.
• Practical experience supporting Workday Core HCM and day-to-day operational activities.
• Experience configuring and supporting Workday business processes, including testing, security and release activities.
• Experience delivering Workday enhancements, resolving issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Working knowledge of Workday reporting, dashboards or analytics, with the ability to support business and operational needs.
• Strong understanding of Workday functionality, configuration principles and HR data management practices.
• Ability to work flexibly across other Workday modules and business-as-usual priorities as team and business needs evolve.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective stakeholder management and collaboration skills across HR, Talent Acquisition, IT and business teams.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and practical way.
• A collaborative mindset and the confidence to work independently, manage priorities and follow issues through to resolution.
• Curiosity and a continuous learning mindset, with an interest in exploring AI-powered capabilities, automation and emerging HR technologies.
• Commitment to data quality, controls, documentation and a reliable user experience.
• Experience working in a changing environment and adapting support across functional and operational priorities.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business or a related field.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• Hands-on experience in both Workday Recruiting and Talent & Performance.
• Experience working across additional Workday areas such as HiredScore, Peakon, Learning, Absence, Benefits, Workday Docs or BIRT document layouts.
• Strong experience developing and maintaining Workday reports, dashboards and analytics solutions.
• Experience with Workday Agents or other AI-enabled capabilities, including assessing practical use cases and supporting adoption.
• Experience using automation or generative AI tools to improve productivity, documentation, reporting, analytics or solution delivery.
• Experience supporting Workday integrations, data governance and system change management activities.
• Exposure to a global, multi-stakeholder HR technology environment.
