RINA is currently recruiting for a Solar Photovoltaic Consultant to join its office in XXXX within the Renewable Energy Engineering Division.
Mission
The Senior Solar Photovoltaic Consultant acts as a discipline authority and technical leader in the development, engineering, and execution of renewable energy and energy storage projects.
The role leads advanced technical assessments, multi‑disciplinary design reviews, grid integration studies, construction oversight, permitting, and technical due diligence for solar pv projects.
The Senior Consultant guides junior and mid‑level engineers, provides strategic input during project development and execution, and ensures that engineering activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, compliance, and technical rigor throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities
Advanced Feasibility & Technical Assessment (Electrical and Structural areas)
Lead complex techno‑economic feasibility studies for solar pv projects, integrating electrical, structural and civil engineering elements.
Evaluate complex site conditions (geotechnical risks, hydrological impacts, topography constraints) and define engineering implications.
Validate advanced modelling outputs and identify technical opportunities, risks, and optimization strategies.
Approve conceptual layouts ensuring multi‑disciplinary compliance and constructability.
Perform and review the energy yield analysis/simulation.
Site Infrastructure & Structural Assessment (if applicable)
Oversee and validate preliminary and detailed civil and structural engineering deliverables (earthworks, grading, drainage, stormwater, foundations, steel structures).
Approve foundation and structural support solutions, including specialized systems (Piles, trackers and deep foundations).
Supervise the interpretation and application of civil/structural standards (Eurocodes or international equivalents).
Perform expert review of analyses produced with Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or equivalent advanced engineering tools.
Multidisciplinary Technical Design Review
Lead and approve multi‑disciplinary design reviews and calculation packages.
Ensure alignment with technical requirements, project constraints, HSE standards, and best engineering practices.
Drive value engineering efforts to improve quality, reduce CAPEX/OPEX, and optimize constructability for complex renewable projects.
Review and validate technical inputs for EPC, BoP, and permitting tender packages.
Ability to operate with high autonomy and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with clients, EPC contractors, and stakeholders.
