With this position we offer

An opportunity to join the Market Platforms organization to work in the newly formed team of Software Development and DevOps specialists to help build, support and enhance operational efficiency of numerous applications, critical to running Nasdaq markets on 24-hour online schedule.

Role Responsibilities -

As a Software Developer Specialist, your responsibilities will be to chip in to the software and infrastructural improvements of the covered applications. You will also provide monitoring, answer support calls, and help resolve production issues for these applications during the US night hours. In this role, you will facilitate collaboration between software development and IT operations teams to streamline software delivery and infrastructure changes.

Critical proficiencies will include software development, building microservices, RESTful API, and browser-based user interfaces. Required proficiencies will also include automation tools, cloud services, software development practices, and system administration techniques, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of modern IT environments. Besides working closely with your colleagues in Mumbai you will also work closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries.

We expect you to have: (Minimum Qualifications)

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Software Development engineer.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, Python, HTML, React JS, SQL, and Java is a must-have.
  • Experience with Spring, Spring boot, Kafka, RESTful web-services and Microservices, relational database.
  • Containers expertise (Docker and Kubernetes).
  • AWS experience.
  • DevOps Experience building and supporting infrastructure, deployment automation.
  • Terraform expertise.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience.
  • Basic SQL knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Linux commands and utilities including Bash scripting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills that enable you to fix and resolve sophisticated issues.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills that enable you to work well with developers, team members, and users.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and staying updated with industry trends that help you improve your skills and knowledge.
  • Creativity and innovation in creating solutions that meet user needs and expectations and deliver value to the business.
  • Attention to detail and quality assurance to ensure your software products are of high quality and meet the standards and requirements.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and cope with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • A genuine interest in the financial industry and learning about the markets, products, and services that Nasdaq offers.

Education Qualification: Degree qualified in a discipline related to Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience

  • It would be great if you (Preferred Qualifications)
    • Knowledge of Equities trading
    • Experience with real-time, high-throughput applications.
    • Understanding data lakes and data-warehousing.
    • Build tools: Maven and Git.
    • Java Frameworks (Keycloak, OpenSearch).
    • JSON.
    • Web security skills: SAML, encryption, certificates, and web attack protection.
    • JUnit, automated testing and test-driven development experience.
