Job Summary

Sr Design Researcher role for an experienced professional with strong expertise in surveys interviews desk research usability testing and competitor analysis. The role focuses on discovering deep customer insights informing product and service decisions and enabling data backed design strategies within a dynamic work from office day shift environment in a global organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive survey programs that translate stakeholder questions into clear measurable research objectives and produce structured insights that guide product and service experience decisions.
• Design and execute in depth interview studies with diverse customer and user segments to uncover behaviors motivations pain points and unmet needs that inform strategic design directions.
• Perform rigorous desk research by synthesizing academic studies market reports internal data and public information to build evidence based perspectives on user trends and industry dynamics.
• Plan and run end to end usability testing sessions including scenario creation facilitation observation and synthesis to evaluate product flows and uncover specific usability issues.
• Analyze competitor offerings through systematic competitor analysis frameworks to identify experience gaps differentiation opportunities and benchmarks that influence design roadmaps.
• Develop clear research plans including objectives methods sampling approaches timelines and success criteria to ensure every study is aligned with business priorities and design outcomes.
• Synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into cohesive narratives that highlight key findings implications and prioritized recommendations for product design and business decision makers.
• Create visually clear and engaging research artifacts such as insight decks journey summaries and opportunity maps that enable cross functional teams to quickly absorb and act on findings.
• Collaborate closely with product design engineering and business stakeholders in the office environment to integrate research insights into backlogs requirement documents and design explorations.
• Advocate for ethical research practices including informed participation respectful handling of sensitive information and unbiased data interpretation to maintain integrity and trust in all studies.
• Guide project teams in selecting appropriate research methods for each problem framing trade offs between depth speed and scale while ensuring the most valuable learning for the organization.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of research operations by refining templates documentation practices and insight repositories that help teams reuse knowledge and reduce duplicate effort.
  
  

• Demonstrate Four to Nine years of hands on experience in survey design implementation and analysis with the ability to craft clear questions and interpret results into actionable guidance.
• Bring extensive experience in conducting semi structured interviews and contextual inquiry with a variety of user groups translating rich narratives into themes and opportunity areas.
• Show strong capability in desk research including literature reviews market scanning and synthesis of multiple information sources into concise evidence based viewpoints.
• Possess advanced expertise in usability testing across low and high fidelity prototypes and live products using appropriate metrics and observation techniques to identify key experience issues.
• Exhibit proven experience in competitor analysis including feature comparisons experience walkthroughs and gap identification that supports strategic positioning and product enhancement.
• Apply solid analytical skills across qualitative and quantitative data using coding frameworks basic statistics and clear reporting methods to produce reliable insights for decision making.
• Use excellent communication and facilitation skills to present complex research findings in a simple compelling and neutral way to cross functional teams and senior stakeholders.
