🔍 Role Overview

Mactores is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer with deep expertise in PySpark, SQL, and AWS-native data pipelines. You will design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions across EMR/Glue, Redshift/Snowflake, Athena, Presto, and Airflow. This is a high-impact role working on modern data ecosystems, collaborating closely with engineering and customer teams.

🧩 What You Will Do

• Develop & maintain scalable data pipelines using Amazon EMR or AWS Glue
• Build data models and implement end-user querying across Redshift, Snowflake, Athena, and Presto
• Develop and manage pipeline orchestration using Airflow
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs & build solutions
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize data pipelines & data models
• Write and maintain PySpark and SQL ETL scripts
• Document technical solutions clearly for both technical & non-technical stakeholders
• Stay updated with new AWS data services and assess their impact
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years hands-on experience with PySpark and SQL
• 3+ years of pipeline development using Amazon EMR or AWS Glue
• 3+ years of experience in data modeling and querying using:
• Amazon Redshift
• Snowflake
• Amazon Athena
• Presto
• 2+ year experience with pipeline orchestration using Airflow
• Strong troubleshooting & problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication & collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
  

• AWS Data Analytics Specialty Certification
• Experience with Agile development methodology
