Job Description
Process: Proactively manage agents, direct clients to ensure adherence to credit terms. Receive and allocate payments from agents/direct clients to respective insurance policies. Investigate and resolve queries related to insurer/client accounts by liaising with agents, underwriters, and internal divisions. Raise and follow up on queries with underwriters/divisions; communicate resolutions to stakeholders. Chase and clear outstanding ledger entries, ensuring ledgers are accurate and up to date. Build rapport with key agents, clients, divisions to foster trust and improve payment turnaround. Maintain detailed records of agent, sub-agent and client payment performance. Minimize net overdue balances through timely follow-ups and reconciliations. Proactively chase high-premium, aged items, and unallocated cash entries to ensure timely clearance. Process invoices and execute payments based on reconciled statements. Approve first and second-level payments within defined authority limits. Communicate effectively with insurers and divisions to resolve queries in line with service standards and process guidelines. Make outbound calls to agents, underwriters, divisions regarding aged debts and unallocated cash. Manage agent and client accounts to meet key performance indicators, including reduction of uncollected brokerage, unallocated cash, client retentions and overdue balances. Verify bank account details for all first-time payments to ensure accuracy and prevent payment errors Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve collective goals. Prepare internal reports and management information (MI) for process tracking and analysis. Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to broker accounting. Participate in system upgrades or transitions related to accounting platforms. Work closely with underwriting, claims, and finance teams to ensure end-to-end process alignment.Train and mentor junior team members on IBA processes, systems, and best practices.Key Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Qualifications
Proven experience in an accounting environment within the financial services or insurance sector Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in client-facing roles, ensuring high levels of service and responsiveness Solid understanding of core insurance principles and industry practices Clear awareness of organizational goals and the ability to align personal responsibilities to support broader business objectives Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements, including FCA guidelines, data protection laws, and anti-money laundering protocols
