Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to Handle Sales, marketing and prescription activities related to products, within the defined industry segment for PAN India. Each day, you will ensure that the division and related sales units substantially improve their sales, margins, market share, and customer satisfaction in the select market segment. You will also showcase your expertise by developing and implementing a market-based strategy including direct, third party, and project sales and enhancing cross-division and cross-region business-led collaborations for the specific market segment.

The work model for the role is:

This role is contributing to the ABB India, Electrification Business Installation Products in India. will be based at Mumbai - India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Business & Sales Leadership: Drive business growth and sales budgets in the Utility segment for MV products, with regional responsibility across Installation Products including Cable Protection Systems, Wire & Cable Management, and Medium Voltage solutions.
  • Customer & Influencer Engagement: Build strong relationships with key customers, consultants, and external influencers, leveraging ABB’s portfolio to capture new business opportunities and increase market share.
  • Market Intelligence & Standards Expertise: Activate operational intelligence, benchmarking, and competitive analysis to identify industry trends and product gaps, while providing expert guidance on international and local standards for ABB products.
  • Sales Execution & Customer Satisfaction: Conduct market visits, expand coverage into non-coverage areas, acquire new customers, resolve customer issues, manage commercial terms, and ensure high customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
  • Collaboration, Marketing & Reporting: Drive cross-division collaboration and knowledge sharing, execute effective marketing activities to articulate ABB’s value proposition, and provide regular sales and marketing performance reports with insights to management.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Education & Experience: BE in Electrical & Electronics with 12–15 years of experience in the switchgear industry.
  • Product & Market Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of ABB Installation Products and deep insight into customer requirements and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated leadership in strategic business development initiatives and maintaining sustainable growth.
  • Relationship Management: Proficient in establishing and maintaining productive relationships with essential stakeholders, customers, and associates.
  • Strategic Thinking: Skilled in developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills for engaging teams, clients, and stakeholders effectively.
  • Methodical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, make data-driven decisions, and solve complex business challenges.
  • Digital & Commercial Acumen: Familiarity with digital marketing tools, social media, online advertising, and CRM systems to support strategic commercial objectives and growth initiatives.

The Division’s products are engineered to provide ease of installation and perform in demanding and harsh conditions, helping to ensure safety and continuous operation for utilities, businesses and people around the world. The Commercial Essentials product segment includes electrical junction boxes, commercial fittings, strut and cable tray metal framing systems for commercial and residential construction.
