The QA/QC Inspector (Blasting & Painting) is an integral part of the quality assurance and control team in industries such as construction, oil and gas, and manufacturing. This role focuses on ensuring that blasting and painting activities adhere to industry standards and client specifications, thus safeguarding the integrity and longevity of projects. A successful QA/QC Inspector will possess extensive knowledge of materials and processes involved in surface preparation and coating applications. They will be responsible for performing detailed inspections, documenting findings, and coordinating with other teams to address any deviations from the desired quality standards. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills are essential, as the inspector needs to collaborate with various departments to ensure quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conducting thorough inspections of blasting and painting processes to ensure compliance.
• Reviewing and understanding project specifications and client requirements for coatings.
• Monitoring surface preparation activities to ensure adherence to industry standards.
• Performing tests and inspections on coating materials for quality assurance purposes.
• Documenting all inspection findings and compiling detailed reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborating with project managers and construction teams to address quality concerns.
• Conducting training sessions for team members on quality standards and procedures.
• Recommending improvements for processes based on inspection results and analysis.
• Verifying that all equipment and materials used meet specified quality standards.
• Participating in quality audits and implementing corrective action plans as needed.
• Ensuring that safety guidelines and regulations are strictly followed by all personnel.
• Coordinating with suppliers and vendors to resolve issues related to coating materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in inspection related to blasting and painting.
• Certification in coating inspection (NACE, FROSIO) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations for coatings and materials.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential for the role.
• Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment for accurate quality assessment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
