QA Automation Engineer Standard

Roles & Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents.
• Design and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Identify, document, and track bugs and defects using defect management tools.
• Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure product quality.
• Conduct UAT support and validation.
• Participate in test planning and estimation activities.
  
  

• Develop and maintain automation test scripts and frameworks.
• Automate functional and regression test cases.
• Integrate automation tests with CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze automation results and report defects.
• Continuously improve test automation coverage and efficiency.
  
  

• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and QA processes.
• Experience in manual testing of web, mobile, or API applications.
• Experience in test automation tools such as:
• Selenium
• Cypress
• Playwright
• TestNG / JUnit
• Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or Rest Assured.
• Experience with defect tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  

• Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum environments.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in software testing (manual + automation).
