Roles & Responsibilities

Core Skills

  • Proven leadership in the QA automation domain
  • Expertise in software testing methodologies
  • Extensive experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber)
  • Expertise in programming languages (e.g., Java,

Performance Testing & Engineering Lead

  • Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests for mobile and web applications.
  • Evaluate application performance under various network conditions, including 3G/4G/5G, Wi-Fi, and low-bandwidth environments (common in field-service and dealer locations).
  • Measure performance KPIs such as:
    • Response time & Screen transition latency
    • Throughput
    • CPU & memory usage
    • Battery consumption (for mobile apps)
    • Network utilization
  • Identify mobile memory leaks, ANR issues, and UI rendering bottlenecks
  • Design and execute load and stress tests for BFF APIs.
Industry-Specific Testing

  • Test scenarios unique to the tire industry, including:
    • Tire search by size/vehicle
    • Dealer ordering portals
    • Inventory lookup
    • VIN-based product recommendations
    • B2B & B2C order flows
    • Seasonal demand spikes (e.g., winter tire season)
  • Validate performance of systems supporting large catalog data and real-time pricing.
Tools & Frameworks

  • Use performance testing tools such as:
    • JMeter
    • LoadRunner
    • Gatling
    • Locust
    • k6
  • Use profiling tools for mobile:
    • Android Profiler
    • Xcode Instruments
    • Firebase Performance Monitoring
  • Work with backend monitoring tools:
    • AppDynamics
    • Dynatrace
Analysis & Reporting

  • Identify performance bottlenecks in front-end, API, and backend layers.
  • Analyze logs, server metrics, and APM dashboards to pinpoint root causes.
  • Provide detailed test reports with actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and architects to fine-tune system performance.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in performance test planning and requirements discussions with product owners and stakeholders.
  • Recommend improvements to architecture, caching strategy, and load distribution.
  • Develop and maintain performance test scripts, frameworks, and reusable components.

Technical Skills

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of performance testing concepts, metrics, and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience testing:
    • Android apps
    • iOS apps
    • Responsive web applications
  • Experience with testing APIs (REST, GraphQL) for throughput and latency.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • HTTP/HTTPS
    • Mobile app lifecycle
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Tools Expertise

  • JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or equivalent
  • APM tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics
  • ADB, Xcode Instruments, Charles Proxy, or Fiddler
  • Log analysis tools (Splunk/ELK)

Soft Skills

  • Excellent analytical and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
  • Experience in the automotive or tire industry
  • Exposure to e-commerce performance testing
  • Knowledge of caching, CDN, microservices, and API rate limiting

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Performance testing certification (optional but beneficial)
