The Proposal Strategy Associate is responsible for executing the proposal sales process including opening game, and middle game for assigned business development leads and proposals to win work for the company. This position will conduct assigned proposal development efforts in collaboration with business development and project management leadership to develop distinctive value propositions that enhance our clients' competitive positions. The selected candidate will be expected to work with colleagues and counterparts in our global offices in North America or United Kingdom.
Responsibilities: Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
As a Proposal Strategy Associate, you will support end-to-end execution of the opportunity, working with Subject Matter Experts to develop value propositions that position to win work. 2.For the targeted industry sectors, gain a thorough understanding of our corporate, regional, and office qualifications including technical, managerial, commercial and competitive strengths to create a differentiator for Burns & McDonnell in the marketplace 3.Support sales leads and Client Account Managers in key Opening Game activities, e.g. Compile client intelligence, capabilities, and probable competitors, perform external analysis, including opportunity analysis, client profile and competitors’ analysis. 4.Actively partner with Sales leads, Account managers and Capture Managers to support and implement Middle Game action plan, update client relationship activities and collaborate on capture plans as needed. 5.Support development of the capture plan and win strategy, SWOT analysis, and Executive Summary, Go/No Go and strategy review. 6.Compile client development, criteria, mapping, and marketing materials including qualification materials such as project descriptions, experience matrices/overviews, safety and quality statistics, capability statements etc. 7.Conduct internal analysis including technical, management and price solutions and developing action plans for contact and contingency. 8.Perform Blue Team review activities. 9.Own the quality and presentation of our submissions and work with the teams to determine and support the best approach and style of response. 10.Developing Issues, Features, Benefits, Proofs (IFBP), win themes and value propositions and the development of the RFP. 11.Perform Blue Team review activities. 12.Conduct all formatting and editing to ensure accuracy, persuasiveness, and compliance with final proposal and presentation documents. 13.Develop interview materials. 14.Manage library of qualification materials including resumes, projects, metrics, proofs, testimonials. 15.Attend professional associations, conferences and build professional networks. 16.All other duties as assigned. 17.And other duties as defined.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, engineering, technology, business administration, or related field. 2.Minimum 4 years’ experience either as a proposal professional, in marketing, business development, or sales with a professional services firm. 3.APMP certification, or equivalent, preferred. 4.Experience with the Shipley best practice model preferred. 5.Superior technical writing abilities. 6.Excellent written & verbal communication skills. 7.Proficiency with Adobe InDesign strongly preferred 8.Proficiency in presentation skills and able to communicate complex information. 9.Cognitive skills that are a must include –

Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and solve problems; the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities; the ability to read; the ability to articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others; the ability to work under stressful situations, good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
Must have the ability to understand and apply written/verbal instructions.
