About The Job

The Privacy Business Partner – Australia, India and AMET (Africa, Middle East and Turkey) plays a key role in bringing the Opella Privacy Program to life across a diverse and fast-moving region. Working closely with business teams, this role helps translate privacy requirements into practical, risk-based solutions that support business objectives while maintaining strong data protection standards.

This is a visible regional role within a well-established, agile and hands-on Privacy function operating across six countries. The role reports directly to the Head of Privacy, has no direct reports, and offers the opportunity to collaborate with international stakeholders across markets, functions and cultures. Occasional international travel may be required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Working hands-on to support and coach teams and colleagues in other functions to ensure Privacy by Design,
  • Supporting the local business to handle risks or non-compliances related to the processing of personal data, in accordance with the applicable privacy standards and laws, as well as with Opella’s risk appetite,
  • Contributing to the continuous development of the Opella Privacy Program and its alignment to Opella’s priorities, and supporting the successful execution of the program in the assigned region,
  • Enhancing privacy culture and awareness,
  • Participate in the regular execution of Privacy Risk Assessment and Risk Management processes,
  • Monitoring regulatory developments, and communicating updates to relevant stakeholders,
  • Conducting monitoring activities evaluate compliance with privacy policies and procedures,
  • Overseeing the handling of data subject requests and personal data breaches affecting data subjects and/or Opella entities within the role’s area of responsibility,
  • Facilitating the maintenance of a network of Privacy Champions in the region.

About You

  • Experience:
    • In-house support to privacy compliance for multinational companies, with similar geographical scope;
    • Working experience at HealthCare, LifeScience, FMCG or AdTech companies is a plus;
  • Soft and technical skills:
    • Deep knowledge of globally recognized privacy principles and landmark regulations (such as the European Union’s GDPR);
    • Knowledge of privacy laws and practices in India and other relevant countries;
    • Familiarity with information security principles and practices, information risk analysis, and risk management;
    • Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word;
    • Practical knowledge of One Trust or other equivalent tools;
    • Ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively to improve productivity, streamline ways of working, and support high-quality outputs;
    • Business-oriented mindset, with the ability to provide pragmatic, risk-based guidance that enables teams to achieve their objectives while maintaining strong privacy standards;
    • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across countries, cultures, functions, and time zones in a geographically distributed team;
  • Education:
    • University degree, preferably in law or engineering, IT. Open to other technical backgrounds that can show deep understanding and robust track record on data protection laws and regulations,
    • Privacy certification preferred (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/A and/or CIPM)
  • Languages:
    • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
    • Professional proficiency in other languages commonly spoken in India, Middle East and/or Africa is a plus.
