Job Description – Pricing Analyst

Role Summary / Main Purpose

The Revenue Manager / Revenue Analyst is responsible for maximizing profitability and improving hotel competitiveness on the B2B platform through effective mark‑up management, strategic pricing, and revenue management processes. The role involves monitoring rate parity, optimizing margins, identifying leakages, analysing hotel performance, and working collaboratively with Market Managers and supply teams to enhance overall GMV and margin growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rate Leakage Identification & Control
  • Monitor daily prices and perform rate comparisons across direct contracted hotels and third‑party suppliers
  • Identify rate leakages, parity issues, and pricing gaps using internal BI tools.
  • Recommend corrective actions including rate corrections, renegotiations, or supplier/hotel investigations.
  • Track recurring leakage issues and work with Market Managers and hotels for resolution.
  • Revenue, Pricing & Mark-up Optimization
  • Develop and implement pricing and mark‑up strategies to optimize margins without impacting booking conversion.
  • Analyse hotel‑wise performance and suggest mark‑up adjustments to maximize revenue.
  • Create dynamic pricing/mark‑up rules based on demand trends, seasonality, and competitive benchmarks.
  • Conduct experiments on pricing slabs and measure impact on GMV, conversion, ADR, and profitability.
  • Provide monthly performance insights with recommendations for long‑term strategic improvement.
  • Competitive Benchmarking & Market Analysis
  • Perform competitive benchmarking and follow market trends to understand rate competitiveness.
  • Conduct market modelling and maintain best practices in pricing analysis.
  • Channel Manager Pricing & Technical Validation
  • Validate rate and inventory flow through channel managers
  • Identify mapping, room type, or rate plan mismatches causing parity issues or pricing errors.
  • Coordinate with hotels and channel managers to resolve technical discrepancies.
  • Collaboration With Market Managers / Supply Teams
  • Work closely with Market Managers and direct contracting teams to:
  • Improve competitiveness
  • Address leakage cases
  • Recommend promotions and pricing corrections
  • Participate in hotel review calls where pricing strategy interventions are needed.
  • Evaluate performance of supply partners including direct contracted and third‑party suppliers.
  • Forecasting, Reporting & Performance Tracking
  • Maintain daily/weekly dashboards on competitiveness and parity.
  • Deliver weekly dynamic forecasts, variance analysis, and budget comparisons.
  • Generate weekly leakage reports and margin performance updates.
  • Analyse monthly performance and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Systems, Processes & Product Collaboration
  • Ensure required MIS and systems for pricing and revenue management are part of the tech roadmap.
  • Provide detailed product requirements for relevant enhancements.
  • Uphold best practice standards in revenue management, pricing control, and new pricing concepts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required — Hospitality, Travel, Business Management, or equivalent.

Experience

  • 3–6 years of experience in Revenue Management, OTA/B2B pricing, or hotel distribution.
  • Hands‑on exposure to channel managers such as Siteminder, RateTiger, HyperGuest, Staah, etc.
  • Experience in competitive pricing, mark‑up management, and parity analysis.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong analytical capability and proficiency in Excel/MS Office.
  • Understanding of hotel rate structures, mark‑ups, revenue optimization, and OTA pricing.
  • Ability to interpret BI dashboards and performance analytics.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.
  • Clear communicator capable of guiding Market Managers and coordinating with hotels.
