Role: Post Production MCR Operator

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra

A Little Bit About The Role

The Post Production MCR Operator is responsible for managing and monitoring the technical operations within the Master Control Room for post-production workflows. This includes ingesting, transcoding, quality control - QC, and delivery of media assets to ensure smooth and accurate processing for broadcast (TV), streaming, social or digital platforms or client delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Media Ingest & Management: Ingest raw footage and media files from various sources (drives, network transfers). Organize and maintain media storage systems and ensure proper metadata tagging.
• Transcoding & File Conversion: Convert media into required formats and codecs for editing, review, and delivery. Operate transcoding software and hardware systems efficiently.
• Quality Control: Perform technical QC checks on media files for audio/video integrity, color accuracy, and compliance with broadcast standards. Flag and resolve any issues before delivery.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor signal paths, servers, and workflows to ensure uninterrupted operations. Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, escalating when necessary.
• Delivery & Distribution: Prepare and deliver final masters to clients, broadcasters, or digital platforms according to specifications. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of assets.
• Collaboration: Work closely with editors, producers, and technical teams to support post-production workflows. Communicate effectively regarding deadlines, technical requirements, and issues.
  
  

• Strong understanding of Post-production workflows.
• Proficiency in media management systems and transcoding tools (e.g., Vidchecker Qscan, Adobe Cloud, Davinci Resolve).
• Knowledge of video formats, codecs, frame rates, and audio standards.
• Familiarity with QC tools and processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  
  

• Previous experience in a Post-production environment.
• Familiarity with industry standards (EBU, ITU, loudness compliance).
• Knowledge of file-based workflows and cloud-based delivery systems.
