Role Purpose

A marketing-first creative technologist who can build, pilot, and scale future-facing content and experience solutions for Unilever.

The role focuses on solving brand and category problems through the intelligent application of technology and platform innovation—across content, commerce, communities, and online/offline consumer experiences.

Please note: AI is an important tool in the toolkit, but not the centre of gravity. The role is about choosing the right tech for the right marketing problem, whether that is automation, AR/VR, GenAI, data-led personalisation, platform-native tools, or emerging media formats.Core Responsibilities

  • Translate Marketing Problems into Tech-Enabled Solutions
  • Reframe brand, category, and business challenges through a tech + platform innovation lens
  • Identify where technology can unlock scale, speed, personalisation, participation, or measurability
  • Act as the bridge between strategy, creativity, and execution
  • Build Content & Experience Engines
  • Design and deploy tech-enabled content systems (not just one-off ideas)
  • Enable both tactical campaigns and longer-term platforms/IPs
  • Solutions may span:
    • Content creation & optimisation
    • Community participation
    • Commerce & shoppability
    • Offline + online integrations, specific to mobile-tech
Work closely with:

  • Content & business teams to embed tech into ideas and narratives
  • Media and trading teams to evaluate platform efficacy and tech overlays
  • Platforms, publishers, and creators to unlock bespoke solution

Preferred Skills & Capabilities

  • Broad understanding of marketing technology and platform ecosystems
  • Hands-on exposure to creative tech workflows translating to consumer journeys, and rapid tooling and prototyping (as part of a wider skillset)
  • Strong ability to connect brand strategy to tech capabilities, with demonstrable business or marketing outcomes
  • Comfortable working across creative, content, media, and tech stakeholders
  • Clear communicator who can simplify tech for non-tech audiencesWhat This Role Is NOT

  • Not a pure engineering or IT function
  • Not a consultant-style advisory role
  • Not a pure creative role
