Operations Excellence- Business Analytics

About The Role

Purplle's Operational Excellence function drives the standards, systems, and problem-solving discipline across the full supply chain — Fulfillment Centers, Distribution Centers, Dark Stores, Control Tower, Logistics (B2B and B2C), and Inventory Planning. This role sits at the core of that function — translating operational noise into structured diagnosis, and structured diagnosis into on-ground fixes, using an AI-first way of working as the default rather than the exception.

You will work directly with the Operational Excellence lead across live network problems — quality escalations, cost leakage, process breakdowns, and performance gaps — and you will be expected to use AI tools as a core part of how you analyze, write, and build, not as an occasional shortcut.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Diagnosis and Process Improvement

• Diagnose recurring inefficiencies across FC inbound/outbound, ICQA, STO/IWT, and Dark Store operations, and convert findings into structured improvement charters with clear owners and timelines.
• Drive root-cause analysis on escalations — quality misses, CPT breaches, inventory loss — through to closure, not just documentation.
• Build, standardize, and maintain SOPs across nodes so fixes hold beyond a single site or shift.
  
  

AI-First Analytics and Automation

• Default to AI tools for reporting, root-cause synthesis, SOP drafting, and leadership summaries — speed and quality of output are expected to reflect this.
• Build and maintain dashboards (Metabase, Looker Studio, BigQuery) tracking DPMO, CPT breach, inventory loss, and productivity metrics in real time.
• Identify manual, repetitive workflows across the network and prototype AI-assisted or automated alternatives to replace them.
  
  

Control Tower and Performance Governance

• Support Control Tower exception management and network-wide performance visibility.
• Prepare sharp, number-driven inputs for weekly and monthly business reviews (WBR/MBR).
• Track cross-functional action items to closure — silence is not confirmation; closure is.
  
  

Cost and Quality

• Support cost optimization initiatives — packaging, shipping, capex — with data-backed recommendations.
• Partner with ICQA on inventory accuracy and loss-reduction tracking across FC and DS.
  
  

Logistics and Inventory Planning

• Partner with B2B and B2C Logistics teams to track exception resolution, TAT adherence, and the health of network movements (STO/IWT).
• Work with Inventory Planning / S&OP to reconcile distribution plans against on-ground execution capacity and flag gaps early.
• Support network-wide inventory visibility — DC–FC movements, SWIS gaps, in-transit stock — feeding directly into Control Tower reporting.
  
  

Stakeholder Execution

• Coordinate directly across FC, DC, DS, Logistics (B2B/B2C), Inventory Planning, tech, and vendor stakeholders to push improvement initiatives to completion.
• Take independent ownership of smaller improvement programs end-to-end, with scope expanding as you demonstrate consistency.

• Improvement charters that move from analysis to implemented, measurable fixes — independently, without repeated hand-holding.
• A growing footprint of ownership across programs and stakeholder relationships, not just tasks.
• Dashboards and AI-assisted workflows that measurably cut manual reporting effort across the OE function.
• A track record where problems identified become problems closed.
  
  

What We're Looking For

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in supply chain operations, logistics, inventory planning, business/operations analytics, or process excellence — e-commerce, quick-commerce, or warehousing background preferred.
• Strong hands-on command of Excel/Google Sheets, with working knowledge of SQL and BigQuery (or equivalent).
• A genuine AI-first working style — fluent and fast with tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or NotebookLM for analysis, drafting, and problem-solving, not just occasional use.
• Ability to turn messy, ambiguous operational data into clear, decision-ready insight.
• Sharp written and verbal communication — able to produce leadership-ready output with minimal editing.
• High ownership and comfort operating across multiple sites and stakeholders simultaneously.

• Working exposure to Python for data automation.
• Familiarity with WMS/OMS platforms such as Easyecom or equivalent.
• Prior experience coordinating small projects or improvement initiatives end-to-end.
