Role Description

Reg BA (JD) –

Role: Business Analyst – Issue Remediation & Regulatory Reporting Support

Overview

MSIM is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the management and resolution of an identified backlog of operational and regulatory issues. The role will focus on driving issues through to resolution by prioritising work, defining and refining business and functional requirements, coordinating with Operations and Technology teams, and validating testing outcomes to ensure solutions meet business and regulatory expectations.

This role will work closely with the Regulatory Reporting, Operations, Technology, and Testing teams to deliver fixes across processes, data, and systems so that MSIM fulfils its regulatory reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage an agreed backlog of business and regulatory issues, driving them from identification through to resolution.
• Prioritise issues in line with regulatory risk, operational impact, and delivery constraints.
• Produce clear, high-quality business and functional requirements, including data and integration requirements.
• Collaborate with Operations and IT teams to refine requirements and agree accurate, implementable solutions.
• Support solution design discussions, ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations and operational processes.
• Validate system changes and issue fixes by reviewing test cases, executing or supporting UAT, and confirming outcomes meet business expectations.
• Act as a key point of contact between Regulatory Reporting, Middle Office, Technology, and data teams.
• Ensure appropriate documentation, traceability, and governance are maintained throughout the issue lifecycle.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

Regulatory & Reporting Knowledge

• Must have experience of financial regulations and regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. MAS, ASIC, EMIR, and similar regimes).
• Experience translating regulatory obligations into business, process, and data requirements.
  
  

Business Analysis & Issue Resolution

• Strong Business Analysis experience within asset management or investment banking environments.
• Proven experience managing and resolving complex business issues, including solution design and delivery oversight.
• Hands-on experience with integration-related requirements and testing.
• Ability to work independently across a prioritised backlog in a delivery-focused environment.
  
  

Middle Office & Investment Knowledge

• Deep understanding of Middle Office operations; experience with BlackRock Aladdin is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of derivatives and multi-asset investment portfolios and fund structures.
  
  

Data Expertise

• Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to create queries and articulate data concepts clearly.
• Experience translating regulatory or business requirements into data logic, mappings, and controls.
  
  

Technology & Systems

• Experience supporting large-scale system migrations and/or system integrations.
• Familiarity with investment and trading systems such as Aladdin, Charles River, Calypso, or similar platforms.
• Comfortable working with Technology teams on design, build, and testing activities.
