Purpose of the role

The GIC Manager, Product Project Management, is responsible for leading a team of GIC Product Project Management providing critical support to US and Canada-based operations. This role focuses on ensuring effective team management to meet the business objectives of the Brand Planning team.

The Team Manager will oversee the execution of raw material-related planning system setups, risk identification, waste risk assessment, and mitigation efforts. This role will ensure that the GIC Product Project Management Teams collaborate with US & Canada-based Brand Planners and cross-functional project teams effectively to provide seamless support for new product launches, promotional events, product lifecycle changes, packaging updates, and other business initiatives across the US and Canada markets.

This role will be responsible for maintaining accountability of the team’s performance, its adherence to business timelines, driving continuous process improvements, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This role will also be responsible for establishing a culture of belonging and support for the GIC Product Project Management Teams under his/her leadership.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the GIC Product Project Management team, ensuring all deliverables meet business objectives and timelines.
  • Ensure the team initiates and manages planning system setups for workflows in standard brand planning systems, including Bill of Materials (BOM) setup and changes.
  • Guide the team in identifying risks related to raw material availability in alignment with project timelines.
  • Ensure that appropriate mitigation strategies are communicated to project stakeholders (incl. US & Canada-based Brand Planning team) and executed to reduce potential waste.
  • Oversee the preparation and management of the raw material write-off budget, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Coordinate with US & Canada based Brand Planning team and cross-functional teams to ensure the team is executing the raw material write-off process effectively and ensure post-write-off inventory updates are accurately reflected in SAP and other relevant systems.

Manage And Monitor The Team, While Fostering Effective Onboarding & Ensuring Alignment And Coordination With Internal & Cross-functional Stakeholders For Smooth Operations

  • Manage team performance by setting clear expectations, monitoring output, and providing feedback to enhance performance.
  • Ensure effective onboarding, training, and individual development while fostering a supportive and cohesive team environment.
  • Foster strong communication with and between GIC Product Project Management Teams and the US & Canada-based Brand Planning team to ensure alignment on goals, portfolio distribution, project updates, and waste risk management.
  • Build relationships across functions such as Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing Plants, and ensure cross-functional coordination of GIC Product Project Management Teams.

Oversee team performance reporting to stakeholders and leadership, lead process improvements, ensure compliance, and enable documentation of knowledge and SOPs:

  • Monitor, prepare and present reports on team performance, write-off budget status, and other key performance metrics (or KPIs) to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a strong control environment, implementing and enhancing brand planning process in collaboration with US & Canada based brand planning teams to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with company process & policies.
  • Work with Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the GIC Brand Planning processes.
  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to implement standardization and stabilization of various GIC Brand Planning sub-processes, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities to minimize errors and reduce manual interventions in future.
  • Ensure that all available knowledge and process improvements related to Brand Planning are documented and added to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and/or the knowledge management database.

Develop And Manage a Continuous Improvement (CI) Framework, Driving Process Enhancements Through CI Initiatives, KPI Tracking, And a Centralized Knowledge Repository To Improve Service Delivery Metrics

  • Design, establish, and maintain a structured CI or Operational Excellence framework tailored to Brand Planning, with yearly process improvement goals.
  • Lead and manage CI initiatives through formal program plans, including charters, timelines, and defined schedules.
  • Assess and oversee brand planning processes, identifying opportunities to improve metrics, cadence, systems, tools, reliability, engagement, and quality.
  • Identify and prioritize CI initiatives based on their impact on time, cost, and resource allocation.
  • Track, measure, and report on improvements in service delivery, addressing process and technology gaps proactively.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure the impact of improvements, ensuring alignment with brand planning and broader business objectives.
  • Build and maintain a centralized knowledge repository for essential resources, including process documentation, training materials, SOPs, best practices, and templates for brand planning activities.

Analyse Process Inefficiencies & Collaborate With Stakeholders To Implement Process Solutions And Tools That Enhance Service Delivery Quality And Drive CI Initiatives

  • Identify process inefficiencies and recurring issues, leading root cause analyses to develop data-driven solutions with GIC and NAR stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional GIC & NAR stakeholders to prioritize and execute business improvement and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Identify and recommend new tools or enhancements that align with process improvement goals, evaluating their impact on brand planning efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement countermeasures to address process gaps, verifying the effectiveness of solutions using CI methodologies.

Foster a continuous improvement culture by developing training programs, facilitating knowledge sharing, and promoting formal learning initiatives within the organization:

  • Develop and implement training programs, tools, and resources to drive GIC team-wide adoption of the CI framework.
  • Provide mentorship and support for CI training programs, offering platforms for showcasing learning and innovation.
  • Promote a CI culture by maintaining a strong pipeline of initiatives and encouraging team-driven innovation and efficiency.
  • Facilitate peer learning and knowledge sharing within the GIC Brand Planning team through structured knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Advocate for formal learning programs like Six Sigma certification and integrate external insights to enhance internal learning and professional development

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education – Full time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered)
  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree
  • Not Mandatory but good to have - CSCMP, APICS, SIX SIGMA or equiv. Project Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-10 Years of Experience in Supply Chain
  • 5+ years in people management role, 5+ years overall supply chain experience
  • In depth knowledge of Supply planning concepts and expertise in end-to-end planning optimization.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain planning processes.
  • Knowledge of various supply planning and system performance KPI’s and metrics
  • Ability to navigate the organization across all levels to drive improvements in planning.
  • Demonstrated project and change management skills.
  • Strong technical and process leadership on supply planning.
  • Deep business knowledge and industry experience.
  • Executive presence - Ability to interact with cross functional leaders and present and challenge new ideas.
  • Strong conceptual and creative problem-solving skills, ability to work with considerable ambiguity.
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with broad cross sections of business partners across the globe
  • Experience in management of collaboration, issue resolution, and performance improvement. Experience in working with cross functional leaders in a matrix organization – Global exposure preferred
