The Team

The Marketing Planning and Studio Relations (MPSR) team is embedded within each market and acts as the strategic thought partner for the local Marketing teams - helping translate comprehensive insights across the business into executable Marketing strategies. Possessing full visibility across the Content slate (both locally and globally), the MPSR team plays a pivotal role in forward planning and campaign prioritization. This team also ensures that local initiatives are seamlessly connected to global priorities and resources and serves as a strategic representative of our internal marketing teams with external creative partners and studios in order to maximize promotional opportunities for their projects worldwide.

The Opportunity

The Manager, Marketing Planning and Studio Relations - India will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of marketing campaigns for licensed titles. This role is the connective tissue between Netflix’s internal functions and external studio partners, transforming complex logistical and rights challenges into streamlined, high-impact marketing opportunities.

This role is based in Mumbai, and reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing Planning & Studio Relations based in India.

Key Responsibilities

Studio Relations:

• Develop and manage complex relationships with local and global studio partners. Act as a trusted advisor to unlock promotional opportunities while navigating licensing constraints and legal requirements.
• Educate external partners on Netflix’s marketing standards and operational excellence to ensure high-quality, timely asset delivery.
  
  

Slate Purview & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Maintain a holistic view of the licensed content slate (local and global). Distill complex information into actionable insights and clear creative guidelines for local and regional teams.
• Orchestrate collaboration across Content Licensing, Marketing, Legal, and Production teams. Your role is to bridge the gap between local market needs and global studio requirements.
• Serve as the definitive "go-to" person for asset sourcing and usage - independently navigating rights restrictions and use discretion to solve issues before they impact campaign timelines.
  
  

Operational Excellence

• Consistently review and re-invent operational workflows to improve the agility and efficiency of the Marketing Studio Relations scope to drive greater impact w
• Utilize data and reporting tools to track operational performance, spot trends, and establish "best-in-class" practices for licensed content marketing.
  
  

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of experience in marketing, client servicing, project management, or a related role within an advertising agency, brand, network, studio, or entertainment marketing organization in India.
• Proven ability to build and manage high-stakes relationships with external studio and content partners.
• Experience in optimizing complex workflows and building scalable marketing operations.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Natural leader who can align diverse internal teams (Content, Legal, Marketing, PR, Product) to drive projects to completion.
• High proficiency in Excel/Sheets with a knack for identifying trends and telling stories through data. Ability to distill complex data and rights information into clear, actionable insights for regional teams.
• Creative problem-solver who can navigate ambiguity and manage high-volume workflows under tight deadlines.
• Confident communicator and stakeholder influencer with a strong presence in local and global forums.
• Working knowledge of digital, social, and traditional media platforms.
• Passion for TV/Film, especially Indian content.
• Familiarity with content licensing, talent clearances, and IP restrictions within the entertainment industry is a plus.
• International market experience is a plus.
