Roles And Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the end-to-end mechanical design process, from requirements gathering, detailed concept development, prototyping, and iterative validation to final implementation for retail infrastructure and products, with a strong focus on design engineer best practices.
• Drive innovation in design methodologies, utilizing advanced engineering tools and simulation techniques to optimize product performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Oversee design reviews and analysis, ensuring that design outputs meet functional, regulatory, and safety standards while adhering to project specifications.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to translate user needs and product requirements into functional, manufacturable mechanical solutions, maintaining alignment throughout the development cycle.
• Identify opportunities to improve design productivity and quality by adopting emerging technologies and best industry practices in the mechanical design domain.
• Prepare, review, and maintain detailed design documentationsuch as 3D models, engineering drawings, and bills of materialsto support efficient project execution, handover, and compliance audits.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives related to mechanical design processes, including conducting design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), lessons learned, and corrective action planning.
• Mentor and support the development of junior design engineers, encouraging a culture of technical excellence, collaborative problem-solving, and professional growth within the team.
