Citi’s Risk Management organization oversees risk-taking activities and assesses risks and issues independently of the front line units.  We establish and maintain the enterprise risk management framework that ensures the ability to consistently identify, measure, monitor, control and report material aggregate risks.

The Risk Analytics, Modeling, and Validation role focuses on developing, enhancing, and validating methodologies for measuring and analyzing various types of risks, including market, credit, and operational risks. The AI Non-Model Risk Review Team within Model Risk Management (MRM) is seeking a Senior Validator to join its dynamic and innovative team. This team is responsible for managing model risk associated with AI Non-Model Objects across Citi’s diverse lines of business. The portfolio includes a mix of AI models, with a strong emphasis on Generative AI.

This is an individual contributor role that involves validating Generative AI models and Agentic AI Use Cases. The position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI risk management within Citi while working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and risk management.

Responsibilities:

• Key responsibility will be to perform independent review and conduct effective challenge across the lifecycle of Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) non-model objects, including GenAI and Agentic AI Use Cases.
• Ensure adherence to applicable policies, procedure, templates, and testing guidance to manage the risk of all aspects of the AI/ML non-model objects
• Drive constructive engagements with key stakeholders such as AI/ML Sponsors / Developers, MRM Governance, AI-CoE, Internal Audit, and regulators regarding AI/ML related matters
• Support in satisfying the requirements for all internal / external regulatory exams
• Develop, enhance, and validate the methods of measuring and analyzing risk, for all risk types including market, credit and operational
• Support the design, development, delivery and maintenance of best-in-class Risk programs, policies and practices for Risk Management
• Contribute to strategic, cross-functional initiatives within the model risk management organization

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• Advanced degree (Master’s and above) is required in the fields of mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, etc.
• 8+ years’ analytics experience in financial services or related industries with minimum 4 years in Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) area
• In-depth technical knowledge of common AI/ML techniques, Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, and Agentic AI.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and detail oriented
• Demonstrated project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time
• Effective Stake-holder management skills
• Self-motivated, ability to work independently

Education:

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as AI/ML, NLP,  Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related discipline.
