Job Description

Advisory brief

The platform helps hospitals coordinate capacity, beds, transfers, tasks, diagnostics, discharge and escalation across operational teams. Its software can improve visibility and response, but it can also create false confidence when source data is late, responsibilities are ambiguous or alerts accumulate without action. The company seeks an advisor who can help make patient safety and clinical accountability central to product and commercial strategy.

The advisor will not practise medicine, direct hospital care or approve clinical protocols. Advice will be provided to the Board; customer institutions and qualified professionals retain all care decisions.

Eleven patient-safety and scale questions

  1. What decisions does each workflow support, and who remains clinically or operationally accountable?
  2. Which source data is authoritative, how fresh must it be and how are discrepancies shown?
  3. How are bed, isolation, staffing, equipment and service constraints represented without oversimplification?
  4. Which alerts are high consequence, who receives them, how is acknowledgement recorded and when is non-response escalated?
  5. How does the platform prevent alarm fatigue, duplicate tasks and unsafe closure?
  6. What happens when integrations, network, devices or core hospital systems fail?
  7. How are patient identity, location and transfer matched and revalidated at handoff?
  8. Which recommendations use algorithms or AI, what evidence supports them and where is human confirmation mandatory?
  9. How are access, emergency privilege, audit logs, data retention and secondary use governed?
  10. Do contracts accurately allocate configuration, source-data, workflow, training, response and incident responsibilities?
  11. Can implementation, support and customer economics scale without unsafe customisation or dependence on a few experts?

Advisory output

The advisor will produce a patient-safety product charter, workflow-accountability map, consequence-based alert framework, deployment-readiness gate, downtime and fallback standard, AI governance boundary, customer contract guardrails and Board trust dashboard.

The dashboard should show integration and data-freshness exceptions; identity mismatches; high-consequence alerts and response; task reopenings; workflow overrides; downtime and fallback use; access anomalies; patient-safety incidents; custom configuration; implementation burden; renewal; and customer contribution.

Candidate profile

Candidates should bring at least 22 years of experience across hospital operations, clinical quality, patient flow, health informatics, medical technology, digital health, cybersecurity or healthcare governance. Former hospital COOs, clinical-quality leaders, chief medical information officers, health-tech CEOs and patient-safety executives may be suitable.

IICA registration is not required. Relationships with hospitals, health-tech vendors, cloud providers, insurers, investors or clinical service organisations must be disclosed. The advisor may not use the engagement to sell software, implementation, clinical, recruiting or consulting services.
