Responsible for setting the budgets, monitoring the actuals, analysing and taking corrective action and ensuring maximum achievements at the country level.
Setting pricing and cost parameters so as to ensure profitable and sustainable quotations are produced in line with market dynamics on a timely basis.
Review and control the credit timelines and payments of all customers. Ensure the CAF’s is duly endorsed post checking the credit worthiness of the customer.
Leadership and Team Management
Develop employee capability by ensuring up skilling and cross skilling by identifying various training and developmental interventions
Identify and develop high potentials internally (as well as potential hires externally) to build strong second line leadership to ensure robust contribution.
Review the sales/ ops team performance based on the budgets and productivity and take corrective action to maximize sales/ops productivity.
Sales and Business Development
Responsible for driving top line growth by developing strategies with the team to penetrate into new customer accounts.
Build strong relationships with shippers / consignee to ensure products/ pricing / trade lanes leveraging push-pull strategies with overseas counterparts.
Work closely with the product and pricing teams to influence pricing and products in order to present competitive solutions to rope in potential customers.
Ensure participation of team members in local events, trade fairs and forums to build a strong brand presence and leverage on existing networks within those forums.
Develop long term and short term business strategies and effectively communicate the same to the team
Key Account Management / Pricing & Procurement Support
Drive a strong focus on account management and client retention to retain existing business and increase the business with existing clients. Ensure such customers are visited every month to ensure building of strong relationships
Review sales performance on a weekly basis for all teams by analysing various Sales MIS Reports.
Develop strong short-/ middle-/ long-term strategies across new products/ pricing/ trade lanes for customers and markets.
Responsible for overseeing and managing the office administration, capex management and stationery and communication costs of the branch (es).
Operations and Services
Lead and develop the sales plan across by working closely with managers to understand markets and competitors.
Develop and implement a strong customer focus between sales, operations and customer services personnel within the team to ensure quick response to customer queries, DSR, RFQ’s etc.
Provide strong support and relevant feedback to the operations and services team to ensure customers are managed professionally.
Responsible for risk management and adherence to compliance
Educational Qualification
Mandatory - Graduate in any discipline
Preferred - Post-graduate in Management with specialization in International Business/Shipping and Logistics/Sales & Marketing
Experience And Skills
Market knowledge of Logistics/ freight forwarding industry
Knowledge of basic financial concept, knowledge of related laws.
Min 15-20 yrs of experience with atleast five years of managerial and three years of senior management experience.
