Job Description

You’ll create impact by:

  • Acting as the Global technical expert and coach for all types of cables (LV, MV, HV Power and control, Railway Signaling cables and Special Cables).
  • Driving the Global commodity strategy for cables together with commercial partners, focusing on Cost & Value Engineering, Supplier Portfolio Management, Innovation, Supplier Quality, and Sustainability.
  • Developing, implementing, and fostering standardization of cable designs, materials, and technologies across Siemens.
  • Supporting Siemens’ sustainability goals through close collaboration with suppliers and internal cross functional partners.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and implementing innovative cable solutions and technologies together with engineering, quality, and purchasing.
  • Leading and executing Cost and Value Engineering initiatives, ensuring transparency on cost drivers and deriving efficiency measures across various Global Region
  • Steering and executing a preventive Supplier Quality strategy, including coordination and execution of supplier pre assessments and audits.
  • Influencing early design decisions by providing technical expertise, risk assessment, and cost input for cable selection.
  • Running and coordinating global cable technology and quality networks, ensuring regular knowledge exchange and alignment.
  • Supporting Project Business to select right design and cost of cable at early bid stage.

This is how youll win us over:

  • Education: Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Experience & Skills: Professional experience in Engineering or R&D or production or commissioning activities on construction sites in projects, with extensive technical expertise in Cables.

Proficiency in project management, cost analysis and optimization, as well as negotiation, moderation and presentation skills. International experience and intercultural adaptability as well as experience in leading global teams are desirable.
