The Environmental Data Technician role largely processes data within the EQuIS (environmental database management program by Earthsoft), verifying the accuracy of data (laboratory and field) and correcting errors discovered, preparing a variety of tables, graphs/diagrams, and borehole logs. They will maintain projects files related to data tables and other data related reports. They may run trend and statistical analysis along with transforming data to be usable in a third-party program such as AutoCAD, ProUCL, GWSDAT, etc. Additional responsibilities may include working with MS Access databases and/or working with historical documents to extract, transform and/or process the data within EQuIS. This job is open for hybrid work and other office locations.

POSITION: Junior Environmental Data Technician
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Regular - Full Time (37.5 - 45 hours per week depending on province/country)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Post-secondary education in a related field (Certificate, Diploma, Degree, etc.)
WORK EXPERIENCE: 0 to 2 years
FIELD OF STUDY: Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities/skills:
A post-secondary education in a related field (Certificate, Diploma, Degree, etc.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office with proven advanced skills in utilizing Excel
Self-starter with the competence to take initiative and go beyond what the job situation requires
Willingness to learn new skills and serve as support in a variety of capacities.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent time management skills and the ability to change priorities to meet client and/or project requirements/deadlines
Strong communication skills
Ability to work across a variety of time zones
Eligibility for federal reliability clearance
Having one or more of the following technical/software skills would be considered an asset:
Earthsoft EQuIS
gINT
AutoCAD 2014 or higher
EnviroInsite
Microsoft Access skills, including query building, table creation and extraction
Knowledge of sciences and/or environmental industry
Data entry for all laboratory and field requests to ensure quality table creation and control
Exercising independent judgment in planning, scheduling, and organizing work assignments
Collaborative mindset and capable of maintaining good working relationships with office management and staff across all offices
