To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Your role
Develop Concept, Preliminary, and Detailed designs, including related calculations, specifications, and documentation.
Develop and analyse hydraulic models and use design knowledge to optimise and develop options for storm drainage schemes.
Develop sustainable solutions and work towards low‑carbon designs aligned with Net Zero objectives.
Apply basic knowledge and experience in ProjectWise, MS Teams, SharePoint sites, etc.
Check 3D models/drawings, components, and interfaces between design and BIM software.
Participate in clash analysis and resolution and work with federated 3D models.
Develop and improve design tools, checklists, and coordination with GTC digital teams.
Perform effective self-checks and support team development and skill enhancement.
Apply Atkins Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) standards and the Business Management System (BMS).
Embrace digital engineering and promote innovative engineering design solutions.
About You
4–6 years of experience in the Water & Wastewater industry.
Experience working in the water and drainage industry, including wet utilities design (storm, foul water, potable water, TSE, and irrigation) for the UK, Middle East, or other regions.
Positive attitude with eagerness to learn and use new water-related design software, tools, and processes for automation and digital efficiency.
Familiarity with ME/BS or similar international Codes of Practice.
Hands-on experience with software such as MicroDrainage, CivilStorm, StormCAD, SewerCAD, etc., and working knowledge of BIM platforms including Civil 3D, Microstation, OpenRoads/InRoads/MX Road, Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, etc.
Strong ability to use water-related design software, tools, and processes for automation and digital efficiency.
Good understanding of various design standards and their application in the water industry.
Working experience with Middle East standards.
Bachelor'S or Master's degree in Engineering from a reputable institute.
Clear knowledge of work procedures and the ability to brief the project team accordingly.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues, seniors, team members, and clients.
Experience in major infrastructure projects at feasibility and detailed design stages.
Strong team player with a collaborative approach.
Chartered membership or working towards chartership (ICE, CIWEM, or equivalent).
