Core Duties and Responsibilities


1. Strategy and Planning

  • Develop Email Strategy & Calendar: Collaborate with the marketing team to build a comprehensive email strategy aligned with business goals such as lead generation, client engagement, and customer retention. Manage a detailed campaign calendar for newsletters, promotional blasts, and automated workflows.

  • Audience Segmentation: Identify and organize subscriber groups based on demographics, interests, purchase behavior, and engagement levels to deliver personalized communication.

  • Goal Setting: Define measurable KPIs including open rate, click-through rate (CTR), conversion rate, and ROI to evaluate performance and guide optimization.


2. Content Creation and Design

  • Copywriting: Craft compelling, concise, and persuasive copy for subject lines, preheaders, email body, and CTAs to maximize engagement.

  • Email Design: Create visually appealing, mobile-optimized templates using ESPs (Mailchimp, HubSpot, Klaviyo) or basic HTML/CSS to ensure responsiveness and brand alignment.

  • Brand Consistency: Maintain tone, colors, and messaging consistent with brand identity and visual guidelines.


3. Campaign Execution and Automation

  • Platform Management: Build, schedule, and send campaigns through ESPs, ensuring technical accuracy and flawless delivery.

  • A/B Testing: Conduct split tests for key variables like subject lines, visuals, and CTAs, analyzing outcomes for performance enhancement.

  • Automation Setup: Design automated workflows such as welcome/onboarding series, abandoned cart reminders, post-purchase engagement, and reactivation campaigns.

  • List Hygiene: Maintain accurate, updated subscriber lists by removing inactive contacts, handling bounces, and managing opt-outs.


4. Analysis, Reporting, and Optimization

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor metrics such as deliverability, bounce rate, open rate (20–25%), CTR (2–5%), conversion (1–3%), and overall ROI.

  • Reporting: Prepare performance reports with insights and data-driven recommendations for stakeholders.

  • Continuous Improvement: Apply learnings from analytics and tests to improve future campaign relevance and effectiveness.


5. Compliance and Deliverability

  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and other email marketing regulations regarding consent and opt-out procedures.

  • Deliverability Management: Monitor SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configurations to maintain sender reputation and inbox placement.


Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical: Proficiency in ESPs (Mailchimp, HubSpot, Klaviyo), CRM systems (Salesforce), Google Analytics, and basic HTML/CSS.

  • Soft Skills: Strong written communication, attention to detail, analytical mindset, creativity, and project management.

  • Knowledge Base: Understanding of segmentation, automation, lifecycle marketing, A/B testing, and global email compliance standards.
