JOB SUMMARY

Wissen Technology is hiring a Database Engineer for the TEDRA (Trade Enrichment Data Reporting & Allocations) platform. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale trade capture and reporting solutions supporting real-time and historical data processing within investment banking environments. The position offers hands-on opportunities in data engineering, ETL development, reporting optimization, and enterprise database performance tuning.

EXPERIENCE, LOCATION, MODE OF WORK

Experience: 5-7 years
Location: Mumbai
Mode of Work: Hybrid

Mandatory Skills (Must Have)

• Strong relational database expertise with DB2, Sybase, and/or Greenplum (5+ years)
  
  

• Advanced SQL development, stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning
  
  

• Python programming for ETL automation, data processing, and reporting solutions
  
  

• ETL development experience using Informatica or similar enterprise ETL tools
  
  

• Unix/Linux and Shell/K-Shell scripting in production environments
  
  

• Database performance tuning including indexing, statistics analysis, and data modeling
  
  

• Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or QlikView
  
  
  

Optional Skills (Good to Have)

• Hadoop ecosystem and Spark processing
  
  

• Data mining and analytics experience
  
  

• Investment banking trade lifecycle knowledge
  
  

• Agile/Scrum delivery experience
  
  

• Java and messaging technologies exposure
  
  

Professional Attributes & Qualifications

• Education: BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  
  

• Leadership: Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical workstreams
  
  

• Ownership: Ability to drive end-to-end feature delivery and production support responsibilities
  
  

• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with globally distributed teams
  
  

• Problem Solving: Strong analytical mindset and database troubleshooting skills
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into optimized SQL queries and reporting solutions
  
  

• Design, develop, and maintain database objects, ETL workflows, and automation scripts
  
  

• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity improvements
  
  

• Support trade capture data platforms for real-time and archival processing
  
  

• Collaborate with global stakeholders, business users, and technology teams
  
  

• Develop Python-based automation for data validation and operational processes
  
  

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  
  

• Provide production support and act as SPOC for user and reporting-related queries
