Job Title: Data Quality Specialist

Department/Function: Operations

Job Purpose

As a DQ Specialist, you will be part of the Data Operations team at IDFC FIRST Bank, supporting the Data Quality Issue Management lifecycle from identification to closure.

The role involves working closely with business, technology, and data teams to monitor data quality issues, assist in root cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution.

You will gain exposure to banking data, regulatory reporting, and data governance practices, while contributing to documentation, reporting, and process improvements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Support the monitoring and tracking of Data Quality Issues across systems and reports

Assist in root cause analysis and coordinate with stakeholders for resolution

Track SLA/TAT and follow up with relevant teams for timely closure

Develop and maintain documentation including:

Data definitions

Process documents

Data mappings (RDEs)

Write basic to intermediate SQL queries to:

Validate data

Identify exceptions

Support data quality checks

Prepare periodic Data Quality MIS and reporting dashboards

Liaise with business and technology teams to understand data requirements

Support implementation of Data Quality rules and profiling checks

Basic SQL proficiency

Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset

Strong communication and coordination skills

Attention to detail

Willingness to learn banking domain and regulatory reporting

Exposure to DQ tools (optional)

Exposure to Banking / BFSI domain

Basic understanding of data lifecycle

Familiarity with data quality concepts

Educational Qualifications:

Graduation: Bachelor of Commerce (B.com) / Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) / Bachelor of Arts (BA) / Bachelor of Business & Insurance (BBI) / Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)

Post-Graduation: Master of Business Administration (MBA) / Master of Commerce (M.com) / Master of Arts (MA)

Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience
