Job Description

The Billing and Receivable Controller plays a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of a company by overseeing all aspects of billing operations and accounts receivable. This includes managing the invoicing process, ensuring timely and accurate billing, and enhancing collection processes to maximize cash flow. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments. The Billing and Receivable Controller collaborates closely with the accounting team to identify and resolve discrepancies, as well as implements strategies to improve billing efficiency and reduce overdue payments. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement is essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire billing process to ensure all invoices are accurate and timely.
  • Develop and implement effective accounts receivable policies and procedures.
  • Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and implement effective collection strategies.
  • Coordinate with the sales and operations teams to resolve billing discrepancies expediently.
  • Prepare monthly reports on billing activities and outstanding receivables for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations in billing operations.
  • Manage and lead a team of billing specialists to optimize departmental efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits of billing and receivable processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Handle customer inquiries and disputes regarding billing in a timely manner.
  • Develop strategies to reduce the days sales outstanding and improve cash flow.
  • Collaborate with IT to implement technology solutions that enhance billing procedures.
  • Monitor the financial forecast and make necessary adjustments to billing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in billing or accounts receivable management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for diverse teams.
  • Proficient in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with relevant accounting regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines efficiently.
