About the Company

A high-growth, VC-backed SaaS company is hiring its founding India team and has partnered with Flexiple to bring on backend engineers for its core services team. You will build the APIs and services that power the product's core workflows. Flexiple is a managed marketplace that helps global companies build high-performing teams and GCCs in India.

Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer, you will design, build, and operate the services and APIs that sit behind the product, with a strong focus on correctness, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

API & Services Development

• Design and build REST or GraphQL APIs consumed by web and mobile clients
• Model data and write efficient queries against relational and NoSQL stores
• Write integration and unit tests that catch regressions before they ship

Performance & Reliability

• Profile and optimise slow endpoints and background jobs
• Instrument services with logging, metrics, and alerts
• Participate in an on-call rotation and resolve production incidents

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 2 to 6 years building backend services in a language such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js
• Strong understanding of relational databases, indexing, and query performance
• Experience designing and versioning APIs used by multiple client applications
• Clear written and spoken English and a reliable remote-work setup

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to message queues or event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS)
• Experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• A degree in computer science or a related field
