The Opportunity
As an Associate – Production Finance, you'll be a key business partner supporting Netflix's growing slate of original productions in India.
This is much more than a finance role. You'll work at the intersection of finance, production, and strategy—partnering with internal teams and production companies to help productions make informed financial decisions from development through delivery.
You'll gain exposure to every stage of the production lifecycle while helping ensure our productions are financially sound, operationally efficient, and positioned for success.
What You'll Do
Partner with Productions
- Work closely with production companies, line producers, production accountants, production auditors and internal Netflix teams throughout the lifecycle of a production.
- Build trusted relationships with creative, production, legal, business affairs, tax, accounts payable, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Support production partners by providing guidance on Netflix's financial policies, reporting expectations, and production finance processes.
Drive Financial Excellence
- Review and analyze production budgets, cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts.
- Monitor production spend against approved budgets and identify financial risks, trends, and opportunities early.
- Partner with productions to develop accurate Estimates to Complete (ETCs) and final cost projections.
- Perform variance analysis and communicate meaningful insights that support business decisions.
- Review invoices, funding requests, and production payments for accuracy and compliance.
Deliver Meaningful Insights
- Go beyond validating numbers by identifying cost optimization opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Analyze production schedules, resource utilization, and spending patterns to proactively highlight financial risks and recommendations.
- Prepare concise financial summaries and presentations for internal stakeholders to support investment decisions.
Strengthen Financial Operations
- Map production costs to Netflix's Chart of Accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Update production data across Netflix's internal systems and reporting tools.
- Partner with auditors and production accountants to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
- Help improve reporting processes, financial controls, and operational efficiencies across productions.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people just as much as they enjoy working with numbers. You are someone who is naturally curious, asks thoughtful questions, and isn't satisfied with simply reconciling numbers—you want to understand the story behind them.
You'll Be Successful In This Role If You Have
- 7+ years of experience in Production Finance, Production Accounting, Production Management, or a similar role within the film, television, or media industry.
- Strong understanding of production budgeting, cost reporting, forecasting, and production accounting.
- Experience working with production companies, studios, line producers, or production accountants.
- Excellent financial analysis and problem-solving skills with strong business judgment.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Google Workspace; experience with production accounting software is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Tally or similar accounting systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining the ability to see the bigger picture.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline. CA or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
Who You Are
- You thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy solving new challenges every day.
- You are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
- You build strong relationships and enjoy partnering with diverse teams.
- You balance analytical thinking with practical decision-making.
- You have high standards, strong integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
- You're passionate about entertainment and excited to help bring incredible stories to audiences around the world.
