Job Purpose

The role is part of the Central Manufacturing Excellence (ME) – Centre of Excellence team and is responsible for driving mechanical engineering excellence, equipment reliability, maintenance optimization, and continuous improvement across manufacturing units. The incumbent will support greenfield and brownfield projects, CAPEX initiatives, and plant-level Manufacturing Excellence programs aligned to the organization’s operational excellence roadmap.

Roles & Responsibilities

Mechanical Engineering & Project Execution

• Support greenfield and brownfield manufacturing projects covering mechanical systems, process equipment, utilities, and infrastructure
• Participate in mechanical design reviews, layout finalization, equipment selection, installation planning, and commissioning activities
• Coordinate with EPC partners, OEMs, and internal engineering teams during execution, FAT/SAT, installation, and commissioning
• Support mechanical scope of CAPEX projects including budgeting support, execution tracking, and post-implementation performance reviews
• Ensure structured handover of projects to plant teams with complete documentation, SOPs, and maintenance guidelines
  
  

Manufacturing Excellence & Reliability Improvement

• Support implementation of TPM pillars, preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
• Drive equipment reliability improvement initiatives using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, Pareto Analysis, MTBF/MTTR analysis
• Support deployment of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across plants
• Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to improve OEE, throughput, uptime, and cost efficiency
• Assist in creation and replication of “islands of excellence” and best practices across manufacturing units
  
  

Data, Governance & Safety

• Collect, analyze, and report key mechanical and maintenance KPIs
• Support development of dashboards and structured reporting for Manufacturing Excellence reviews
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory requirements, and internal audit protocols
• Support standardization of mechanical maintenance practices and spares management across plants

BE / BTech – Mechanical Engineering
