Assistant Manager – Product Information Capabilities (PIC)

About The Role
The Assistant Manager – PIC will lead and enhance General Mills’ digital shelf content ecosystem for US and Canada, ensuring accurate, complete, and optimized product information across e-commerce channels. This role blends technical leadership, process automation, AI/ML integration, and team management to drive operational efficiency, improve content quality, and accelerate e-commerce growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership (30%): Lead, mentor, and develop content publishers and auditors; set priorities, track performance, and drive technology adoption.
- Automation & Technical Expertise (40%): Analyze workflows, implement automated solutions, drive API modernization, ensure process efficiency, and collaborate with development teams on user stories and digital shelf strategy.
- QA & Testing (20%): Design and execute test strategies, validate processes, support cross-pod testing, and ensure system integrity.
- Process Improvement & Governance (10%): Document workflows, track metrics, refine processes, and implement best practices across digital content operations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, IT, E-commerce, Computer Science, or related field.
- 9+ years in E-commerce, Product Information Management (PIM/MDM), or related tech-focused roles; 3+ years in leadership/tech lead roles.
- Hands-on experience with PIM/DAM systems (Salsify, Bynder, Adobe AEM, Sitecore DAM) and data syndication (1WorldSync, Syndigo, GDSN).
- Strong web development/scripting skills (Python, GitHub) for automation and data manipulation.
- Proven record in process improvement, automation, and large-scale technology projects.
- Knowledge of QA best practices, vendor management, and technology adoption/change management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in relevant field.
- Exposure to AI/ML applications in content management or e-commerce.
- Experience with workflow/project management tools (Adobe Workfront, JIRA, Monday.com, ADO) and reporting/analytics platforms.
