Architect

vConstruct is seeking Architects to join its Design Services team to support the delivery of Design-Build and Design-Assist projects. This role exists to bridge the gap between design vision and technical execution ensuring architectural intent is preserved while achieving constructability, compliance and cost efficiency.

This role would fit a mid-level architectural professional with strong technical design knowledge, design coordination skills and a good working knowledge of construction methodologies. The individual would work on a range of projects of different scales and complexities in core markets of our expertise such as commercial, educational, healthcare, advanced tech, and life sciences buildings. The individual would work with areas such as Architecture and Interior Design, Cold Formed Framing systems, and Building Envelope systems including façade and waterproofing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support architectural design development across Concept, Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), and Construction Administration (CA) phases.
2. Prepare, review, and coordinate architectural deliverables, including design drawings, shop drawings, and submittals for assigned scopes of work.
3. Participate in constructability reviews and design coordination efforts, identifying and resolving design conflicts in collaboration with project teams.
4. Apply an understanding of building codes, accessibility requirements, specifications, and construction methodologies to support design development.
5. Coordinate closely with design leaders, structural engineers, self-perform teams, design managers, and MEP consultants to deliver fully coordinated solutions.
6. Produce conceptual renderings and visual materials to communicate design intent during early project phases.
7. Support the development, organization, and ongoing maintenance of architectural details for various building systems.
8. Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, templates, and content to enhance consistency and efficiency across projects.
9. Ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, and consistency on assigned deliverables by following effective QAQC process.
10. Support design revisions, RFIs, value engineering initiatives, and construction-phase clarifications throughout the project lifecycle.
11. Assist with Construction Administration activities as required.

Experience & Skills

• 3–8 years of professional experience as an Architect or Technical Designer in the AEC industry.
• Education background - Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Prior experience in leading small to medium scale projects or scopes with minimal supervision.
• Experience working on U.S.-based projects is preferred; familiarity with U.S. building codes and standards is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of architectural systems and construction methodologies, including interior partitions, waterproofing, and exterior envelope assemblies.
• Ability to evaluate sequencing, integration, and compatibility of building components and different disciplines during design.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Revit for architectural modeling and documentation.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining design content, including templates and parametric families.
• Working knowledge of design coordination and documentation review platforms is desirable such as Navisworks, Revizto, ACC, Bluebeam.
• Experience with SketchUp and visualization tools such as Enscape is preferred.
• Familiarity with Rhino and Grasshopper is an added benefit.
• Curiosity to learn and develop and motivated to seek solutions.
• Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in conducting design reviews and to develop high-quality deliverables.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proactive, positive team player capable of building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
