Job Role : AM/DM- Tire designer

Departments: Technology and R&D

Job Code

Location: Mumbai

Reports To : Lead- Product development.

1: Job Purpose Statement (Summarize in one/two statements why this job exists, and the contribution makes to the overall business of the company).

The purpose of this role is to tire designing of all steel category for new product as per market requirement. The person should be able to perform the required activity for new product design & improvement in existing product as per market feedback.

3: Duties & Responsibilities (List in the order of importance the duties & responsibilities of this job)

Decision Making Authority (This will be for every job allocated to the individual)

Refer to the Decision making box for detail information

Responsible of Tire designing of all steel category as below.

Cavity , Layout preparation, Pattern drawing
Manufacturing specification, EPR review
Technical document preparation, Communication with PM team.

Responsible for New design Proposal making & DEPR approval.
Should be capable of Study tire testing results & analysis.
Claim/ fail tyre analysis
Benchmarking process
Person should travel to plant as per requirement to smoothly execution of new tire development.

4: Key Result Areas (List the key deliverables that quantify successful performance in the role).

New product designing & manufacturing Specification at given time frame.
Proto/pilot result review time & feedback to plant.
Design standardization/ simplification in segment.

5: Decision Making Authority (For each decision type define if the action involves below mentioned categories:

Schedule A : Execution

Schedule B: Follow SOP/policy for decision to be made. (Moderate to Complex decision making)

Schedule C: Decide within approval limits) Complex/tactical/strategic decision making impacting the outcome

Competencies

B.Tech, M.Tech
Good understanding of Basics of Mechanical Engineering.
Tire Design and development experience preferably in all steel.
Tire, manufacturing process/ technical knowledge of all steel tire.
Working experience in plant will be an added advantage.

Work Experience : Around 03-06 years

Functional

AutoCAD
Unigraphics /CATIA.3D Experience
Knowledge of DFMEA & design tools
Exposure to PLM software.
