Role - Project Engineer - Chillers (Contractual)

Location: Mumbai / Project Sites Across India
Employment Type: Contractual (1 Year)
Contract Renewal: Subject to performance and business requirements, the contract will be renewed annually.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Chillers to manage end-to-end execution of chiller projects, including installation, testing, commissioning, and project coordination activities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely project delivery while maintaining quality, safety, and customer satisfaction standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute chiller installation projects from project handover to final commissioning.

  • Manage project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and site execution activities.

  • Coordinate with customers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Supervise installation of chillers, pumps, piping, controls, and related HVAC equipment.

  • Conduct testing and commissioning activities of water-cooled and air-cooled chillers.

  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, commissioning records, and handover documents.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards at project sites.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning stages.

  • Participate in customer meetings and provide regular project status updates.

  • Coordinate with service and operations teams for smooth project closure and handover.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 3 to 10 years of experience in HVAC or chiller project execution.

  • Hands-on experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of chillers.

  • Experience handling commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center, or infrastructure projects.

  • Good understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, pumps, piping, and controls.

  • Knowledge of project management practices and site coordination.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Water-Cooled Chillers and Air-Cooled Chillers.

  • Knowledge of BMS integration and HVAC controls.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project specifications.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and project reporting tools.

  • Willingness to travel extensively to project sites as required.
