Job Description

The Design Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and monitoring all design-related activities throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures that architectural, structural, MEP, façade, landscape, and specialist designs are developed, reviewed, and delivered in accordance with project requirements, quality standards, budget constraints, statutory regulations, and construction schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the complete design process from concept design through detailed design and construction documentation stages.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, façade consultants, landscape consultants, and other specialist designers.
  • Ensure seamless integration of multidisciplinary designs and identify interface issues proactively.
  • Review and monitor design deliverables against project milestones and contractual requirements.
  • Review design submissions for compliance with project specifications, design briefs, international standards, local codes, and authority requirements.
  • Ensure designs are practical, buildable, cost-effective, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Conduct regular technical reviews and value engineering workshops.
  • Act as the primary interface between the client, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders on all design-related matters.
  • Monitor design progress against the approved project schedule.
  • Identify potential design delays and implement mitigation measures.
  • Provide technical support during construction and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information).
  • Prepare weekly and monthly design progress reports.
  • Maintain records of design submissions, approvals, revisions, and technical correspondence.

Qualifications

  • B.E. - Civil Engineering
  • 15 years of experience in Design with High rise residential projects with at least 1 project G+40.
  • Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, or institutional developments.
  • Experience working in a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment.
  • Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary consultants from concept to project completion.
  • Familiarity with international design standards, local authority approvals, and construction methodologies.
